Who do you want our next president of the United States to be?
Unfortunately, I’m stuck with what others deserver. We will get exactly the president we deserve.
i think santorum is a really nice and moral man, however, i think he is too conservative for a lot of Americans. he doesn’t have the experience like romney does. so, i too think that romney has the best chance of seeing that our current president is not re-elected. i think some day, after becoming more seasoned and experienced, rick santorum would make a good candidate for president. i am not saying that romney is not moral or nice, he seems like a good family man and i know he understand the hard knocks of the business world.Romney - he has the best chance of beating Obama. I also believe he could turn around our economy. On the other issue - supreme court justices, foreign policy, etc. I believe he is solid.

Well, after Obama is re-elected I have no idea.![]()
I agree with you on Santorum - this primary process has taught him a lot about campaigning. He is relatively young. Even if Romney were to do 2 terms he could run in 2020 as he’d be only 61 years old. Or if Romney loses, he’d be in a position to run in 2016. I like Santorum. One of the criticisms I have of him is that he sometimes does not come across as presidential. On paper, I probably agree with him on most issues, but I do not think this year is his time.i think santorum is a really nice and moral man, however, i think he is too conservative for a lot of Americans. he doesn’t have the experience like romney does. so, i too think that romney has the best chance of seeing that our current president is not re-elected. i think some day, after becoming more seasoned and experienced, rick santorum would make a good candidate for president. i am not saying that romney is not moral or nice, he seems like a good family man and i know he understand the hard knocks of the business world.
i think he would be good for our economy too.
As to experience relevant to the situation: Santorum is a career politican. Romney has experience in the private sector - turning around the Olympics and other businesses. He has real-world experience as opposed to Santorum’s debate experience.I will take Romney over Obama anyday but…
As to political experience:
Romney served one 4 year term as Governor.
Santorum:
**Served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 4 years **
and
Served as a U.S. Senator for 8 years.
He was the third-ranking Republican in the Senate
He was chairman of the Senate Republican Conference
He served 8 years on Senate Armed Services Committee
He served on the the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; the Senate Special Committee on Aging; and the Senate Finance Committee
As to age: Santorum (53) is 3 years older than Obama(50).
Because some so called Catholics do not give real consideration to what the Church teaches on the principals of voting. Whether they realize it or not, a vote for Barack Obama at the ballot box means they have constituted remote material cooperation or material cooperation with evil, depending on the voter’s reasons for voting. It is surprising to me, given what Obama and his administration have been up to, that nearly a third of respondents cast their straw vote for him in this poll.
Ex-Catholics. Solid for the Democrats. GOP has no chance.
Code:**Cultural Catholics** who may go to church a few times a year. This may be an undecided voter — check out that classic *Atlantic Monthly *[tribes of American religion](http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200601/twelve-tribes) piece — depending on what is happening with the economy, foreign policy, etc. Leans to Democrats.
Code:**Sunday-morning American Catholics**. This voter is a regular in the pew and may even play some leadership role in the parish. This is the Catholic voter that is really up for grabs, the true swing voter that the candidates are after.
getreligion.org/2008/10/catholic-vote-vs-catholic-votersCode:**The “sweats the details” Roman Catholic** who goes to confession. Is active in the full sacramental life of the parish and almost always backs the Vatican, when it comes to matters of faith and practice. This is where the GOP has made its big gains in recent decades, but it is a very small slice of the American Catholic pie.
That is the nature of majority representation.Unfortunately, I’m stuck with what others deserver.
Every cycle, someone will bring up a candidate’s business experience as being somehow “better” than “political” experience as qualification for high office. As to experience relevant to the situation: Santorum is a career politican. Romney has experience in the private sector - turning around the Olympics and other businesses. He has real-world experience as opposed to Santorum’s debate experience.
