Forget about who’s running for what party. Can someone explain me what the Democratic party is about, and what the Republican party is about? What’s the difference? (I from another country). I still don’t get it, my grandma says that the Republicans likes to war, and she says that she rather vote for the Democratic…

I apologize if I’m going out of topic.

I like more Santorum than Obama, of course.

Basically… the difference is their beliefs on government regulation. Democrats usually believe in MORE government involvment, while Republicans usually believe in LESS government involvment. Also Democrats are usually more liberal and believe in abortion, homosexual marriages, gun control, etc. While Republicans are usually more conservative, and are against issues like abortion, homosexual marriage, etc. But there are a few exceptions on both sides.

Your Grandma must be an American…

I want to vote for Ron Paul, but I don’t think he will win the republican primary. I think Santorum is okay, but I don’t think he will beat Obama and outside of this website, a lot of people don’t like him. My vote will have to go to Romney.

I just don’t want Obama in office anymore. 😃

I agree with you on Santorum - this primary process has taught him a lot about campaigning. He is relatively young. Even if Romney were to do 2 terms he could run in 2020 as he’d be only 61 years old. Or if Romney loses, he’d be in a position to run in 2016. I like Santorum. One of the criticisms I have of him is that he sometimes does not come across as presidential. On paper, I probably agree with him on most issues, but I do not think this year is his time.

👍 yes, i look forward to Santorum running in the future and, hopefully, then, he will have more presidential qualities about him. he just needs some experience.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

 as to your first statement, that is your opinion, not mine!
And that would certainly effect your acceptance of the reliability of the polls conducted by CNN. What sources would you find trustworthy in conducting a similar poll?

Before any Catholic votes in November, they should be made to realize that dispite all the hype and sppin, Obama is the most anti-Catholic President in the history of the USA…not in words, but in deeds. Just look at what his excommunicated Secretary of Health has done with her pro-abortion policies, and the fact that the Presidents Office has cut off funding for Catholic adoption agencies.
Lastly, for those of you who drive-gasoline was $1.89 a gallon when he took office. Look at what it is today! His spin blames it on Iran and the mid-East in general, but the price hike is largely due to the policies of his Department of Energy who thinks by raising the price of gasoline to European levels, we will adopt alternate sources of energy to power our cars, when such things are not economically or technically practical for the foreseeable future.
We made a huge mistake for electing a man to the Presidency who has never had a real job in the private sector, and, in fact, has sucked on the public teat for all of his live…and it has made him a millionaire, to the detriment of the country.

I said Romney. I like Santorum, but I don’t think he’s presidential material. That being said, if he’s against Obama, I’m voting for him. Better Romney over Santorum, but better Santorum over Obama.
Romney is not presidential material. Better Santorum as the nominee, because Romney means another four years of Obama and Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house.

A Rasmussen poll from today has Obama with a 1 point lead over Romney. Hopefully over the summer when Romney is able to focus on Obama’s failures instead of having to defend himself from attacks from Santorum and Gingrich, the voters will respond.

I am not going to try to convince you that its wrong for a catholic to vote for Obama because I think we’ve been through that already. Is there any scenario that you could imagine in which Obama does something to cause you to not vote for him?

I don’t know. I do know that I can’t ever see myself voting for an Individual holding the basic tenets of the Conservative American political ideology.
