I spotted this book: “Devotions for Job Seekers**:** Daily Encouragement Along the Way” by Richard Malone at a local Catholic bookstore. I read a few pages, recalling what it was like to lose my job some years ago. I bought it in anticipation of being unemployed. I told the clerk I was buying it while I still had a job because I wouldn’t be able to afford it after I got laid off.

Anyway, it’s full of helpful short essays to encourage the job seeker.

Yes, you are in my prayer brother! Are you married? Do you have kids?

I urge you to seek out employment and really a career here, seeking to find out what the Lord desires for your life. This might be an excellent time to do such searching. Do you want to have kids? God has a plan for YOU, do you know that? Well he does! Rom. 8:28. Whatever is in our pasts CAN work for good, all for His glory!

You are precious in the Lord’s sight. Don’t forget it. He’ll most certainly bring other opportunities your way. Seek and put Him first in your life, and examine what you want out of life.
