The pain is alot better today. All my co-workers can’t believe I didn’t get pain meds. I didn’t want to tell them why yet so I just said I wouldn’t have the money for the prescription so I declined the offer of meds. This is going to blindside alot of folks when I tell them. Even though only one person is not Catholic in my office. She is 10 months older than me and lives with her bf even though she has a 16 yo that lives in an apartment (by herself because mom is never there). My boss is going to take it the best, even better than his wife (she was shocked at the idea a year ago when I was throwing up all the time and wasn’t sure if I had a virus or was pregnant).

You are incredible, my prayers go out to you and your baby. You both must have very good guardian angels.

Yep we must!!! But hey, my oldest had Jesus as his imaginary friend when he was two… so I guess that just set the precedence.😃

OH BLEST ONE - I am so sorry! You are in my prayers and may I say you handled this like a woman of grace and dignity…ok, maybe not grace…😉

actually you did…

oh, you poor thing. I broke my leg a couple of years ago, and I had a nine year old to help me during the day. And the pain pills helped so much.

Take it easy. Use lots of pillows for propping. And don’t forget the ice just above the beginning of the cast.

Prayers your way. :signofcross:

Update…
I am feeling alot better today. It doesn’t hurt half as much as it did and I feel a little more mobile. DH took me to McDonald’s more for a change of scenery than for the food. I ran into some very old friends some of which I hadn’t seen in years and others I see quite often. It was cool. I am starting to see the disadvantage of being on crutches while pregnant. Do you know how much energy it takes to get up and hobble to the bathroom? Geezzz… I should have known this was going to be a major inconvenience.

What a hectic weekend!!! I now officially am sick of McDonald’s. My dh fed me there 3 times over the weekend just so I could get out and because we didn’t want the kids to have to stay home all weekend because of me. Went to mass Sunday, met up with the pastor as he was making his way over to the church. He looked at me and asked if DH was taking care of me. Didn’t even ask what I did… just wanted to know if dh was treating me right. I teased dh about it all day! I have decided I like those motorized cart things in Walmart for gimps like me. They are fun! On the other hand, I really hate IGA and their 1 broken wheelchair… no wonder that 10 pound bag of potatos fell on my leg… the darn chair was broken!!! My feet swelled bad because I was out and about so much, but now I am back at work sitting at my desk feeling lazy so the swelling should go down.

How are you using ice packs? They helped me so MUCH while recovering from knee replacement surgery…

OK, OK… I will put ice on when I get home… I just don’t sit still well (rationalizing)… but I will grab my rosary and a book and not get up until I have prayed a rosary and read at least a chapter or two from my book.

:tsktsk: :tsktsk:
You haven’t been using ICE!!!
You should have ice on your knee/leg almost every time you sit down. 20 minutes on 20 minutes off, or something like that. It will help with the swelling and the PAIN.

Get the ice and use it. (Bags of frozen veggies work great.)

OK… When I got home tonight I put my leg up high… higher than my heart and it helped the swelling, then I put a bag of frozen corn on it for about an hour and it helped alot too. I feel much better except for the bladder that is about to burst from cold corn on my leg… now I have to get up and go. I guess it could be worse… I just don’t want to get up because I know it is going to hurt.

Wow, people are feeding me! My bosses wife made chicken and noodles with homemade mashed potatoes for my family and I last night. My co-worker made homemade salsa for me and my presidents wife made me lunch. I am kinda overwhelmed with all this since I have never been the recipient of so much generosity at one time! It’s kinda weird having everyone do stuff for me like that. The funny part is that in the past 24 hours I have had authentic Mexican, American, and Japanese food thanks to these folks. (Did I mention we are a very diverse group at work?)

Unfortunately, my 15 yo daughter has been less than wonderful. She is usually alot more helpful but now all she does is complain about having to help more. She still does as she is asked but complains and grumbles about it. She has been so moody! OTOH my 17 yo son has been very agreeable lately. He doesn’t always do what he is told but says he will. Hey, wasn’t there a parable like that?

Interesting! Anyway, yesterday when dh and I picked up kids from play practice at daughters school our oldest son(20 yo) told us they had to be there tonight as well.(he is doing the light and sound for the production) When we discussed dropping them off and then having time for ourselves, 17 yo ds made a comment about that we better not be expecting after tomorrow night. Oldest ds, dh and I just looked at each other as if to figure out if any of us told him we ARE expecting… It was too funny!

Haha!
I read a story somewhere about parents telling their oldests that one of their younger siblings was concieved on a cross country trip. They pointed out that there are advantages to doing late-night laundry! LoL.
Did you remember to tell him, or was he just being goofy?
