I applaud this move forward to equality. If a woman wants to serve on the lines, she should have every right to.

Well, women in combat or no, I can tell you for sure that there’s two guys who ain’t gonna be fighting in the next war: me, and the guy they send to get me.

let’s test how egalitarian you are. a big war comes along and we need 300,000 people for combat. a draft is necessary. should we draft both men and women to serve in the infantry?

And there are many women out there who are stronger, quicker, braver, smarter, and more honorable than a lot of men. These might be the women who save the country and your life or the life of your children or other loved ones one day.
“About 90% of the women in the Marines” - as a friend of mine going through basic training told me little more than a week ago - “are lesbians or wh—s.” Not that there aren’t plenty of guys just as bad, but that’s a pretty sad statistic coming from someone’s first-hand experience.

Not that that detracts from the fact that they’re willing to put their lives on the line, but still…

Define wh—s. Does he mean that they are having sex for money?

When did that become a right?
Defense of country is a basic right, since it goes hand in hand with the right to self defense. Or am I seeing it from a different perspective than you? I’m not a feminist, I’m just looking at it logically.

Now, if you are forcing them into it with a draft, that’s another story, since, as simple biology tells us, men are more suited to combat than women.

I think that this is a positive thing. Anyone who is capable and desires a combat role should be permitted to serve. There are several documented cases of women serving in the US Civil War…

Why not?

John

Why are you blaming “feminism”?

This has to do with who is able-bodied, strong, and can help defend our country.

I think we all know not many are “stronger”. That’s why, for example, the training of male Marines is a lot more demanding than it is for female Marines.

Since the great majority of actual front line soldiers are, and have always been men, some consideration ought to be given to their safety and ability to perform. That, and not political correctness, should govern decisions like this.

The only modern state that used women in combat was Israel and it quit doing it.

But I think we all know political correctness trumps all nowadays.

I don’t think a guy in basic training can intelligently comment on 90 percent of anything in the Marine Corps. He has basically seen his unit, his barracks, his DI…and almost nothing else.

Very true. He obviously has a very interesting unit nonetheless.

I have no problem with this. If female politicians can vote in favour of a war, then they should fight in it as well. Come to think of it, I think all politicians should be the first to go into combat.

That’s a joke. Very few women could pass current infantry training standards.

as simple biology tells us, men are more suited to combat than women.
the secular left denies this obvious fact. to them, the outcome of D-Day would have been the same if all of our soldiers had been female.

A nation that sends women into combat is a nation of cowards.

With that noted I guess it will be OK for me to shove women out of the way to get on a lifeboat!😃

men who have fought in wars have seen the worst that life has to offer. pain, torture, fear, mass murder, loss of friends, desperation, guilt over having killed others, etc., etc., ad infinitum.

and what has been their reward once the wars have ended?

women.

joy, laughter, frivolity (i mean that in the most positive way), softness, femininity, and all of the other wonderful qualities that make women so great.

in the past, a man who came home from war could enjoy his wife’s softness and all of these other qualities.

the left wants to change all that. it wants to make women just as hard as men. in the future, both memebrs of a marriage will return from war with all of the scars that war entails.

it will be horrific and sad.

bottom line is, God made women and men very, very different. the left thinks God got it very, very wrong.
