PANIC during prayer

Just wondering… have you ever started praying or in the middle of prayer and this sort of panic runs through you? Panic because you feel you have too many people ot pray for and there is an urgency to fit them all in, or because you have all these feelings that just want to burst and there is no way to control your pouning heart?

I’m hoping its just not me… lol 😊

Grace, relax! God, who is outside of time, will hear your life of prayers as a continuous prayer, once they are started. Life sometimes intervenes in matters of prayer, causing you to temporarily stop. I don’t think the Lord cares when you resume praying, as long as you do resume them.

St. Paul admonished us to pray constantly. I have tried by praying while I’m driving, sitting, waiting, etc. What for? The first person you see, fellow motorists, pedestrians, those in line at the store, people you used to work with, etc. Fit a prayer for someone you know in between the “stranger prayers”.

If you can’t finish at bedtime, pick it up when you wake up. God is still listening, and hears your prayers as He does the songbirds in the morning.

sure, and those feelings are not necessarily panic. it is a matter of realizing the power of prayer, but also realizing the power does not lie in anything I am doing, but the power is entirely with Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, in prayer addressed to the Father.

Breathe in, exhale, “and for all those intentions and persons who have asked for my prayers. Amen”. Now spend the rest of your prayer time in silence, and let the Holy Spirit pray for you. (He is pretty good at it).
 
I understand, I have been in the middle of a Divine Mercy Chaplet and suddenly remember people that I forgot to mention to God at the beginning. I always start my prayer now with:

Father, these prayers are intended for everyone I know, all those on CAF, and anyone you need me to pray for Father. I especially want to remember _________(list those you can think of at that moment).

That pretty much covers everybody!
 
I know exactly how you feel, I used to feel like that, but i solved it, when i go to mass on a Sunday i light a candle for for each of them and say their name as i light it, i feel it is not such a burden now:thumbsup:
