I identify with this. Does anyone else? I do not however ‘act upon’ it. I’m married to a man.

I know a lot of people who claim to be bisexual or pansexual and I don’t believe it’s real attraction. It’s insanely encouraged in popular culture. It just doesn’t seem real to me. Why were there no bisexual/pansexuals when my parents were growing up?

There were, there’s always been people who are attracted to and/or engaged with sex with both sexes. All of them were in the closet, of course, at a time when America thought of homosexuality and such as a mental disease. And science proves these orientations do exist. This isn’t just stuff people just decide you know.

I don’t identify with pansex but I believe consenting adults should be able to do use their pots and pans any way they wish, provided it is in the privacy of their own bedroom…or kitchen.

I don’t mean to be offensive, but why do you consider yourself Catholic in that case?
 
That’s a great question to pose to about 50% of Catholics in America.

I believe it’s real attraction. Just not real sexual attraction. It’s people misinterpreting as sexual what is not inherently sexual attraction.

If it doesn’t seem real to you it doesn’t exist? How would your parents know if it existed or not and do you really have conversations like this with your parents? Encouraged by pop culture or just made better known?

I am strictly a man/wife type of person, but I wouldn’t try to judge what is in another’s heart.

I agree. I don’t think “pop culture” is powerful enough, nor people passive enough, to have sexuality ‘forced’ upon them, in most cases (sure, the suggestible exist, but not in droves). Sorry, I just don’t buy it. I think a lot of this is biological, and we have to do our best to adhere to God’s teachings on the matter. I have a serious problem with people telling others their sexuality is not ‘real’, or that it was a result of their exposure to pop culture. This is pejorative and degrading.

Okay. If no one is going to say what it actually means, then I am gonna have to go with this explanation. :rolleyes:
 
In anthropology when the text or professor referred to “pansexual” it meant having a sexual desire for anyone. Male, female, young, old, related, not related, human, animal.

I’m not sure what the OP means.
