Papal Blessing for Divine Mercy - questions

So I was reading a prayer book the other week and it happened to mention that Pope JPII had attached an Apostolic Blessing to those who prayed the Divine Mercy at adoration for the sick and all those dying in that hour. The prayer book claimed that the blessing did not expire so that anyone who prayed a DM at Adoration for this intention even now can get it.

I looked this up online and found what appears to be the Papal blessing to which the book referred, here:


My questions:
  1. Is this blessing still in force, or did it expire either a) at the end of the Jubilee Year 2000 or b) when Pope JPII died?
  2. Assuming the blessing is still in force, is there any way to transfer benefits of a blessing, e.g. if I got the blessing could I ask Jesus to transfer its benefits to the Holy Souls? I’m presuming that since God can do all things, he could honor my request in some way (i.e. give the Holy Souls something), but on the other hand I am not clear on how the Church sees blessings from my read of CCC 1671 - 1672. I have further thought that a Papal blessing just attached to the person getting it and wasn’t really transferable.
I feel a bit weird about trying to accrue a whole bunch of blessings for myself so I would prefer to give the benefits away like I generally do when I say prayers with some attached benefit.

Thoughts?
 
I believe you are over-thinking this. The prayer itself is offered for the holy souls! If you also benefit, praise God! Your Father, Who sees in secret and knows your heart, will reward you.

Try not to complicate it. The evil one is the master of complication, whereas God is the Author of simplicity.
 
I imagine that I benefit spiritually by being at Adoration and praying. That’s about all the benefit I am seeking to get though (Aside from some help in my daily life that I seriously need and constantly bug God about). I would prefer all the rest to go to the Holy Souls. I will just ask God to do as he sees fit. That probably takes care of Question 2.

I’m still wondering about Question 1 as to when a proclamation of a Papal Blessing expires or does it ever expire, if there is no end date set. “On the occasion of…” doesn’t read like an end date to me.
