The faithful are to be charged up to £25 a head to see Pope Benedict XVI when he comes to Britain later this year.

I’d pay $100 to see Pope Benedict – 40 bucks is nothing! 😃

And just out of curiosity, if anyone knows, why are the faithful being charged? Why isn’t it free? Is it to pay for the airline expenses (I heard that the Pope is using the Italian airways…)?
 
I’m going to see him and have no problem paying, it’s to defray the costs of the UK Church. i am fairly sure that anyone who has difficulty paying will be assisted by their parish group.
