Actually there are a fair few homeschooling networks in Australia. Groups of families sometimes work together in such a group.
 
you know, that original article is American, with its particular set of American norms and values. they dont translate well or similarily in Australia.

we speak english, usa speaks english, however we are very different people due to our native culture.

is yoir native culture Australian or British. where did you grow up.

Australia, friend. And while I do know that places have different cultural values believing that folks should be treated with respect is something we should still work for.
 
Do Catholic schools actually go along with such requirements? If so that is an abomination.

The US for all its faults does have some advantages over the rest of the world. In many countries educating your own children is a crime. That is what the modern socialist states do. All people are property of the state.
 
treating people with respect includes treating a culture with respect.

we are members of a catholic alternative culture. thats what all nationalities on CAF have in common.

and having read this thread, i see stats being posted that are being incorrectly interpreted. its the bane of CAF. being so eager to debate and win, the factchecking gets lost in the haste.

i see you are questioning being Catholic. its seen as quite old fashioned here in Aus.

however God never goes out of fashion

I think the US melting pot is happily moving towards treating trans* folk with respect and having a greater understanding of gender. 🙂 So it seems to be pottering along nicely.
 
Now friend, I have explained to you that this is recognised hate speech. It achieves absolutely nothing to use it and only derails conversation.
 
last year with the vote for same sex marriage , it became quite an issue.
at this point there are changes recommended by that Royal Commission about the admin and appointments in Catholic schools. As those changes go through it will become more entrenched

but there is a huge push back on education and prevention of bullying atm . there have been a few suicides recently that got a lot of exposure. bullying through social media is a big problem. parents and friends are beginning to demand something real done about that.

because clearly , anything being taught in schools atm is a huge failure.

no such thing as a melting pot these days. we respect cultures that enter the native culture. its like a fruit salad now. we dont assimilate. we have bits and pieces from everywhere.

you miss the home schooling point i made. the comparison of homeschooling between Aus and the states. no mention of quality or resources was made
 
All you said was that we didn’t have the homeschooling that the US has, I mentioned we do indeed have a lot of homeschooling. I’m beginning to think you may well just be disagreeing with me for the sake of disagreeing 😉
