UNICEF Still Promoting Abortion

TORONTO, October 30, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Halloween is here again, and with it the fundraising drive for UNICEF the so-called children’s fund of the United Nations which has been mired in abortion support for the last twenty years. The organization has not learned from its past and continues to engage in the anti-life agenda. Earlier this month UNICEF joined Planned Parenthood International and the UN’s population control arm UNFPA in sponsoring a women’s conference, one thirds of which was dedicated to promoting abortion. They give to UNICEF??? :eek:

The change in focus at UNICEF quickly became apparent causing the Vatican’s UN Mission to issue a press release in 1996 noting that it was withdrawing its symbolic donation of support to UNICEF. The release noted that UNICEF had “begun to divert some of its already scarce economic and human resources from the care of the most basic needs of children” to abortion supporting activities. A meaningless gesture. Your parish is giving money to an organization that promotes abortion. Your pastor should know better-I would suggest you notify your bishop of this

We checked with the Diocesan Office and they said the USCCB has not made an official stand on the subject and its up to local Pastors.

Why any Catholic would give money to an organization that supports abortion is beyond me. I would quit your Church in a second and go find a parish where life was respected.

That only means that they have more money to spend elsewhere. Earmarking may ease you conscious, but the organization still spends money on murder and other things against Natural Law. It is the same reason I do not give to the United Way.

We ere encouraged to support our sister parish in Haiti…which in general I don’t mind…but they haven’t said who distributes the money…Some are involved in Pax Christi and I wonder if they support UNICEF?? I think I’ll see if I can find out :hmmm:
