"…Nor should Americans take comfort in France’s distress. By 2050, there will be 100 million Hispanics in the United States, half of them of Mexican ancestry, heavily concentrated in a Southwest most Mexicans still believe by right belongs to them.

Colonization of the mother countries by subject peoples is the last chapter in the history of empires—and the next chapter in the history of the West—that is now coming to a close."

I oppose illegal immigration as well, but remember most of these hispanic peoples are our Catholic brothers and sisters. Why speak about our brothers and sisters in this way? All legal immigrants deserve the respect and opportunities all Americans enjoy. Remember that anglos were once the invading force and they didn’t do it legally either. Not all hispanics are here illegally. If they assert themselves legally, more power to them. Thats what America is all about.

The big difference is that in France, they say people from former colonies are are welcome, but they really aren’t.

In the United States, they say people from Mexico are not welcome, but they really are.

But they won’t impose Islamic Law on us. 👍

Here here! 👍

I work for a local HMO near the Tijuana/San Diego border. It was founded by hispanics, and it’s board is entirely made up of hispanics. It was rated one of the best local HMO’s in San Diego County, and is accredited by the NCQAA, along with other accreditations. It serves as the administrator not only to employer-group plans, but for the California Healthy Families program and the Medi-Cal program. The employees are about 85% hispanic, all well-educated, with degrees, are driven for service and quality. This company and many others shows that with drive, perserverence and goals, immigrants can make their lives the way they want.

I don’t believe in supporting and facilitating illegal immigration either, because of its damaging effects on the immigrants who become exploited serf labor, among other reasons, but I say the sooner this Church becomes 50 % Hispanic the better, never have I encountred greater faith than since I moved here where I am definitely a minority. also never have I seen a greater work ethic, or more courteous people. It is a real culture shock to get back up North to the land of rude service persons and hostile public servants. When is the last time a Mexican terrorist flew a plane into a building or did a suicide bombing in a crowded place? the invader we have to fear from our southern border is the drugs, so target them first.

It occurs to me that the Moslems were shut out of France by Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours in 732. Now France’s low fertility has made them dependent on Moslem immigrants, whose higher fertility is repoulating France.

the Moral:

Make Love; not War. 😉

I have no problem with Legal immigration. I have no problem with immigration from South America. I want the people of South America to have the same opportunities that we have. Opportunity is not a zero sum game that has to be rationed. Most of the people of South America are Catholic or Christian and for the most part very devout.
I have no problem with South Americans getting education and moving up in the world that is what make the United States great. You are not kept in a class.
I dislike the word Hispanic because it take people from Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Porta Rico, and all the other South American or spanish speaking people and lumps them altogher.
I don’t like illegal immigration. It forces people underground and make them criminal.
