I need some advice on what to do in my current situation - parish-wise. My wife and I belong to a parish that is far from a faithful parish. We started going there 10 years ago because it was the closest Catholic parish to our home. Several times, I suggested we try another parish, but my wife would not go. I had to make a decision . . . go to a more faithful parish by myself while my wife slept in and didn’t go to Mass, or go to the less faithful parish with my wife. I chose to attend the less faithful parish with my wife.
I have struggled at this parish the entire time. Now that we have two children, I am really starting to question what effect this parish is having on them. Can I bring them up in the faith if the parish is not that faithful? Is there something I can do? Any suggestions you all have? Can I suggest that we remain at our parish but visit other parishes around our area say once a month or every other month? My wife may or may not got for that. She does not want to switch parishes, but she might be open to some sort of regular “visiting.” Any thoughts?
