And of course the media leading a false narrative again…
You are assuming that the AG can be trusted to tell the truth.

Throughout this episode, he has not. He ordered the park cleared/he didn’t order the park cleared. He said the park needed to be cleared but the didn’t say clear the park.

Sorry. Additionally, what happened the night before has nothing to do with clearing peaceful protesters out the next day with violence so Trump could stroll across the park and hold a Bible up in front of a Church he wasn’t invited to.

At least you are consistent with your cynicism.

McEnany’s message is consistent with that of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway who told reporters on June 2 that “there was a plan to expand the perimeter from H Street to I Street based on the events as they had unfolded the night before.”

Barr told CBS on Sunday that the decision to expand the perimeter around the park was made independently to Trump’s decision to walk to the church, and that he personally witnessed “projectiles being hurled at the police” by a “non-compliant crowd” on June 1.

Emerson said, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”. Not sure how that plays here.

I think that the whole episode with the clearing of the square is shrouded by the “fog of war”. There were strategic things going on (move the perimeter back) and tactical things (the President is walking through this square in a half hour).

I believe that the decision to expand the perimeter could have been made independently of the decision for Trump to walk through it. However, the execution was driven by Trump needing to walk through it at a certain time. Barr said he told the Park Police “it had to be done”, not “you need to do it”. Those are not exact quotes, but the mental gymnastics needed to parse and believe those statements is beneath the office of AG.

If you can get past the paywall, there is a really good video timeline here created from video shot by media and bystanders.

Drawing on footage captured from dozens of cameras, as well as police radio communications and other records, The Washington Post reconstructed the events of this latest remarkable hour of Trump’s presidency, including of the roles of the agencies involved and the tactics and weaponry they used.

Everyone was invited to the church. The staff would have welcomed him, had he not decided to clear out people they had already invited (and their own clergy) in order to do visit on an impulse. More to the point, he seemed to only want to visit their sign, not the actual people of the church.
His self-centeredness and shallowness were on full display. Great timing for that…

But not to let himself rest:

Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment.

@OANN

I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?

(Mr. Martin Gugino, a Catholic, has been an old-school peace protester for a very long time. There is no evidence outside of conspiracy-theory fantasies that he has ever had anything whatsoever to do with Antifa. The police may not have intended to harm him, it could have just been an awkward fall, but the tape looks a little like a hit and run after a car-vs-pedestrian accident. It never looks good to see someone injured and fail to check to see if they were hurt and how badly, but especially not if it might be even partly your fault.)

I noticed he also had a lot of scam blood leaking from his fake ear. Really, this is another good chance that anyone who wants can watch the video and reflect on the character and charity of the Commander-in-Chief.

I think people who look with their eyes securely shut will see just what they’ve always seen and people who don’t have already seen plenty. The only people changing their minds see,m to be those who held out hope that some occasion would some day induce him to rise to it.

If not now, when?

They used smoke canisters and pepper balls not tear gas (mace) at protestors that were violent, i.e., they were throwing projectiles like bricks, frozen water bottles caustic liquids . . . etc.

They were warned three times to disperse and didn’t.
