Pastor Rick Warren: I’d Rather Go to Jail Than Obey Mandate

Washington, DC – Evangelical pastor Rick Warren sent a message on Twitter today that is resonating with pro-life advocates opposed to the new Obama mandate forcing religious employers to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs.

I think Rick Warren is a good and holy man and I am glad to have him as our ally during this battle. All Christians, regardless of denomination, as well as all defenders of religious freedom, should join together to fight this as a united front. All religious leaders should recognize that if this passes, who, or what, is next?

:thumbsup:Thank you Rick Warren!

I guess Obama’s only alternative is to throw every Catholic in jail.

Amen to Rick Warren. I wonder what he thinks now since he lead the prayer at Obama’s inaugural. Rush Limbaugh mentioned it on the air. Good for Rick Warren and hopefully other protestant ministers will follow him!

Reminds me of the quote attributed to Cardinal George, “I expect to die in my bed. I expect my successor to die in prison and his successor to die a martyr’s death.”

Our religious leaders need our prayers!

Good for Rick Warrne, let us keep our Protestant Brothers and Sisters in our prayers as well.

I can see a scene were people of faith march to the Lincoln Memorial, singing “We Shall Overcome” in protest to the intolerance by the President and like-minded people. The irony of intolerance and prejudice is staggering.

If that ever happens, I shall fly across the pond and offer my support as well.

I suspect there will be a day when churches will not be allowed to refuse same-sex marriages.

I know it seems like something that would never happen but I greatly suspect it’s around the corner. It’ll start with things like this and snowball from there.

This has already been advocated in some states. A delusions pastor cannot be allowed licensed to perform civil marriages if he will not do same sex marriages. It would lead to church and civil weddings being two different events as in countries with totalitarian pasts.

I don’t care what sort of persecution comes our way in the future, I will not disobey the Church. The Catholic Church is God’s Church and I refuse to disobey anything that she teaches. I don’t care if that means that I am put to death, I will never obey man over God!

Unfortunately for Rick Warren and his followers, Warrenism is not a valid defense for it has no authority and is at odds with his history. Dude flip-flops so much on key issues and supporting them, that I suspect this one will be NO different.

The man is a non-office-seeking (as of this post) politician who cloaks himself in Jesus at the expense of Christian doctrine. He says things and then removes them when any group expresses outrage over the thing he said. He’s a total coward.

He dances with the devil to the tune of Amazing Grace. No thanks.

Amen. May we indeed all have the grace to do so, for without grace we can not do anything.
