Recently I have been studying the Pastoral Epistles.
In them it seems that the church is considered as the *People of God *rather than the (Mystical) Body of Christ, as in the undisputed Pauline letters.
Would you agree with this view?
I do not think there is a deep conflict between these two images of the Church, which (in a typical Catholic way) is both. However is the emphasis in the Pastoral Epistles more in keeping with the modern post-Vatican II image of the Church?
I have heard that in the Pastoral Epistles the Church as a Fellowship is not emphasized. Is this correct?
I am very grateful to all here who have replied to some of my posts about the Pastoral Epistles with charity and insight. They have helped me to get insight into these three Epistles, 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus.
