CRAWFORD - President Bush’s supporters poured into Crawford Saturday by the thousands, for the first time outnumbering war protesters led by Cindy Sheehan, who began a vigil here three weeks ago, demanding a personal meeting with the vacationing president to talk about her son’s death in Iraq…

An estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people attended a pro-Bush rally in Crawford, waving flags and pledging their allegiance to U.S. troops. At times, they accused Cindy Sheehan of dishonoring the war death of her own son, Casey, who was in the Army.

I hope that there were no fights or people hurt in the clash of ideas.

Sheehan crowd, patriots, and “white supremacists” all in one place at one time. If I lived in Crawford, I would board up the homestead and head for the hills (oops, no hills in Texas).

Well, gilliam, I am glad to hear that those supporting the troops are showing up. I hope people have brought their own digicams because this side of things may never make the MSM with enough profile to persuade the troops that people do value what their are risking their lives to accomplish.

As for the white supremicists showing up for the Camp Casey side: I bang my head on my keyboard. I have been very clear that I thought Sheehan was behaving in a devious way. But devious seemed different from malevolent – until now.

I wonder why we haven’t heard from Jewish commentators until now, particularly with Sheehan’s position for the islamofascists (which she calls ‘freedom fighters’). I expect we will soon.
