Completely agree with you here. Dems can’t support their record, so they have to run a negative campaign. Sandra Fluke? She’s a nobody.
What is she doing there?
She is the face of the oppressed, private college attending woman who can’t afford the $10/month for her own birth control. It’s a leading Democratic Party demographic. 😛

Her speaking and all the pro abortion speakers at the DNC are doing the Romney/Ryan ticket a favour. DNC speakers will talk about contraception and Planned Parenthood, the 2 things struggling Americans who are out of work worry will be taken away the most and the RNC is talking about how to get America back on track

Exactly. The DNC is doing everything it can to distract attention from the economy and joblessness.

She’s sort of a living Julia, living off the government and our tax dollars. She’s the antithesis of what Democrats CLAIM about women, that we are strong, independent, want to stand on our own two feet. Instead she’s apparently unable to find a Walgreens, to come up with a few bucks for birth control, not holding a job or supporting herself. As one poster put it…I am woman, hear me beg!

And they think it’s hard to identify with Ann Romney? As a wife, mother, cancer survivor, church member, and partner to her husband, she has a LOT more in common with the average American woman than Ms Fluke, Cecile Richards or Ms. NARAL (Keenan?).

It will truly be interesting to hear some of the DNC speeches. Can’t wait to hear The Big Dog talk about women’s issues 😉

Yes. Well, people ought to read Ayn Rand (an extremist atheist), and read about why Ayn Rand is not a respected thinker in the academic community (there are very good reasons for this). Then they should read about Ryan’s support of this woman, and think about what that says about him as a person. I don’t think it’s good. I don’t think he gets it at all.

Most people are not served by this kind of person making important decisions. He serves the rich, which is not most people.

Do you think support of the killing of unborn children says something about a politician?

Been discussed ad nauseum. :sleep::sleep:

Ryan is not an atheist.

I would think one of the highest compliment someone could get is to not be respected in the Academic community-at least what passes for the academic community today

Trivia Question-when was the last time a person as rich as Romeny ran for president?

No. But Ayn Rand was an was an atheist and Ryan read her books therefore he is an atheist.Oof course following this logic i would be either a hard nosed Homicide detective In Los Angeles or Defense Against the dark arts professor at hogwarts.

I’d be a WWII journalist!

I don’t think it implies a lack of understanding, empathy and compassion. Pro-choice people generally do not believe that an embryo or a fetus (at least up to a certain age) is a person, and thus they do not believe that they are killing a person. You must know the arguments, I’m sure.

I didn’t say he was an atheist. This is a direct quote from a speech he gave at the Atlas Society in 2005:

"I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are, and what my beliefs are. It’s inspired me so much that it’s required reading in my office for all my interns and my staff.”

Why? Anti-intellectualism is nothing to be bragging about.

Why is that relevant to what I said?

I have read Ayn Rand’s books. Loved them. Changed my life. Do I agree with her atheism? Do I agree with everything she said? No. Neither does Ryan.

This particular subject…Ryan channeling his inner Ayn Rand… has been beaten to death, debunked and dispensed with. If you enjoy beating dead horses go for it but if not check the fora and you will find much written on the subject.

A self appointed spokesman for a relatlvely obscure self claiming Catholic organization is hardly the authority on the subject of Catholicism’s impact on Paul Ryan’s budget.

When I hear it from the Pope, I will take notice

BAHAHAHA tooo funny Bob. Say I’ll bite, how about John Kerry as richest man running for office in recent history? Not that HE “built it” but he did marry it!

Correct-I dont recall the Left attacking him for being a rich white man who couldn’t relate to the common people. Of course may be because he didnt earn his money-his wife did(well actually she married into it but thats another story).

Then perhaps he shouldn’t have mentioned Ayn Rand ad nauseam. 😉

I’ve read several books of hers. Would I campaign on that fact? No way! I get attacked for just mentioning it. 🙂

You are assuming that what passes for academia toady can be described as intellectual.
