That makes sense. You wouldn’t want your priest to be part of the dating scene.
 
And, why did it take so long for these ‘victims’ to say something?

The victim didn’t wait. In the report on the indictments which I’m making my way through, many victims did report in a timely fashion but they were treated dismissively, punished, including really lame attempts at discrediting the victim/witness, it was suggested that no real harm was done. They were treated like crap.

Do you still want to ask why victims don’t report or take a long time to do so?
 
Instead, too many are warped by sexual frustration and begin molesting children.
Now there’s a false equivalency if I’ve ever heard one. Priest molesting children is a question of corruption of power plain and simple. Marriage has nothing to do with the 80% or more of abuse cases involving priests and young boys.
Somebody please get a clue!
