                                January 28, 2009

Pepsi is now using its TV spots to promote the gay lifestyle. **AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war.** Pepsi refused. The company said it will continue major financial support of homosexual organizations seeking to legalize homosexual marriage.
Pepsi gave $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest and most powerful gay lobbying group in America. The company also gave $500,000 to Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total gift of $1,000,000 to the two homosexual activist groups was to help promote the gay lifestyle in the workplace.
After Pepsi gave their money to HRC, HRC gave $2.3 million to oppose California’s Prop 8, an initiative which defined marriage as being between one man and one woman.
Pepsi also forces its employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training, where they are taught to accept homosexuality.

**This boycott has nothing to do with whether or not Pepsi hires homosexuals, or if homosexuals purchase Pepsi products, or how Pepsi treats its homosexual employees. This boycott is about the fact that, as a corporation, Pepsi is promoting the gay lifestyle. **

It’s old news. Pray for Pepsi and for homosexuals.

I usually drink Coca-Cola or A&W Root Beer. Praise be to God for giving me the taste buds I have, for He is wise and merciful! 🙂 But recently I’ve been drinking orange juice, milk, and water, for my health. Praise be to God for giving me common sense! 🙂

What a cruddy way to push your agenda. I clicked on the “watch the 30 second commercial” but it wants me to sign the “boycott Pepsi” website. Ummmmm NO, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I will not be forced to sign sometihng that I can’t see/read about before hand. Now if you have a legitimate way of getting your point across, please post.

Also, why are you so antigay? They do nothing to harm you. There are so many other things that do cause harm where your efforts could be put to much better use.

You can see the video without signing.

I am against intrinsic evil wherever I see it. I love the sinner and hate the sin.

I am willing to hear your suggestion of where I can better spend my time.

I can see how this ad is condoning behavior the CC says is immoral, but I don’t understand how this is pushing ‘homosexual marriage,’ as the ad has nothing to do with marriage, unless asking someone out is now the equivalent of a proposal!

There are tons of dogs and cats in shelters that need homes, food, etc.

There are tons of kids in group homes that need a family.

There are drug addicts on the street who need help.

There are homeless families on the street who need a meal.

Oh but wait, all of those things would take physical effort, you couldn’t help any of them by just sitting behind a keyboard.

Also, if you are really serious in your efforts, why do you post on places like CAF? Why don’t you go onto noncatholic forums and plead your cases there?

I think very few large corporations would withstand the scrutiny of where they make their money, where they spend their money, or what they support.

Well I would definitely place human needs above animal shelters. So that is out.

Ahhhh - the others are great suggestions. But you have no idea how many me and my family do?

How many do you do?

We do at least two. And some require more physical effort than typing. I am Catholic don’t you know! We take charity, spreadin the good news and helping others seriously through our charity and fraternal correction.

Did you watch it to the very end? The guy hits on another guy. Amazing!😦

Oh I missed this one.

I like CAF! It is much more civilized and charitable than other forums I have been on. Talking about hate! Some of these other places spew venom continuously. Any other questions?

I think the objection to the add is that it normalizes and makes us callous to this sin. Nobody said they hate gay people. This is a hard subject for me since two of my step-brothers are gay. I dont hate them but I dont approve of thier lifestyle either, I still treat them with respect and kindness.😦

Exactly. Well said “petitfleur”. Hate the sin. Love the sinner.

I, for one… am sick and tired of this “agenda” being forced down the public throat. “TVLand” recently had a gimmick going… perhaps you will remember. It was called “The Family Table”. The idea was a good one… (encouraging families to sit down together, and have a meal). However… good old “TVLand” didn’t lose an opportunity… to portray a gay couple sitting down together at the table, as one “type” of family.

The media knows, that the more the public sees and hears these things… the more “dulled” we will become to them. And the poor children… they will grow up… knowing nothing else. That’s what is really sad.

How many do you do?
With the exception of the kids, I do all of them. that’s why they are on the forfront of my mind. And although I can’t foster kids, I am a youth leader at my church and I love it.

Well, I guess giving 500K to HRC which in turn gives 2.3M to fight Prop 8, is pushing for gay marriage. No more Tropicana for me, although it was my favorite brand. I don’t want to sponsor HRC and anti-Prop 8, even indirectly. Is it a coincidence that in MA, where gay marriage was legalized, elementary school children are subject to gay indoctrination in public schools, and their parents get arrested when they ask the teachers to notify them in advance of such programs, so that they can opt their children out?

You vil listen or you vil be shot!

I would not say the ad was exactly “pushing the gay lifestyle.” I think they were acknowledging that it exists, while as you can see the two other guys are shocked and disgusted.

As for giving money to pro-gay-marriage causes … that one does bother me. But I don’t drink the bubbly stuff, of any brand – it doesn’t agree with my stomach.

:rotfl: It always cracks me up when people think that having a life and using the internet are mutually exclusive. As if you can only choose using the internet OR doing good deeds.

Well, were it to be to initate courting, instead of dating, then it would be akin to seeking a person to marry, rather than simply fornicate with.

Did it seem to you like the fellows friends were…shocked at his choice?

Let me understand you. Standing WITH the Church and against immoral culture is bad? And you put dogs and cats higher on the food chain than individuals in great need of the mercy of God? And it’s a cheap shot to make accusations because you are offended by the truth.

No, you misunderstand completely. The only thing Buffalo does is try to promote the anti-gay agenda. Gay people do not affect you in any way at all. They live their lives and you live yours. There is no reason to constantly go against them. Prejudism is NOT Christian.
