I have not made the accusation because I know that many here are sensitive, but I can explain why it pops into my head. Homophobia to most is the irrational fear of homosexuals. To some of us the idea of a big clandestine organization sort of like the Illuminati, or the fathers of Zion, but for Gays that has an agenda for world domination and will soon have the ability to turn every child gay in the world through tolerance training at places like the pepsico company, may to some seem irrational. I personally feel, when I hear about the “GAY AGENDA” the same thing when I about the vast right wing conspiracy by Hillary Clinton. This in concert with the fact that the gays make up such a small percentage of the population, less than conservatives, and are justly discriminated against, as it is referred to in your own language, by most the population makes it hard to believe that it is rational.

Perhaps because you have not actually seen it:

Here it is:

The 1972 Gay Rights Platform

In February 1972 the National Coalition of Gay Organizations met at the Armitage Avenue United Methodist Church in Chicago. An invitation had been sent out to 495 homosexual organizations across the U.S. to come and prepare a “gay stance for the 1972 elections.”
About 200 individuals from 18 states representing 85 organizations showed up for the two-day event. Conference participants adopted the 1972 Gay Rights Platform, which included 17 federal and state “demands.”
**For over 30 it has been the beacon of the homosexual movement in America. **Back in 1972 their demands seemed so outlandish that nobody took them seriously. But gay activists have been extremely focused and relentless in achieving their goals. (Notice the bottom goal on the list.)
It gives an interesting perspective. If someone back then had suggested that we would be discussing this subject today and in the position we’re in, it would not only have been considered unbelievable, it truly would have been beyond the ability of the average person to imagine it.
DEMANDS:
Federal:

  1. *]Amend all federal Civil Rights Acts, other legislation and government controls to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and public services.
*].Issuance by the President of an executive order prohibiting the military from excluding for reasons of their sexual orientation, persons who of their own volition desire entrance into the Armed Services; and from issuing less-than-fully-honorable discharges from homosexuality; and the upgrading to fully honorable all such discharges previously issued, with retroactive benefits.
*]Issuance by the President of an executive order prohibiting discrimination in the federal civil service because of sexual orientation, in hiring and promoting; and prohibiting discriminations against homosexuals in security clearances.
*]Elimination of tax inequities victimizing single persons and same-sex couples.
*]Elimination of bars to the entry, immigration and naturalization of homosexual aliens.
*]Federal encouragement and support for sex education courses, prepared and taught by Gay women and men, presenting homosexuality as a valid, healthy preference and lifestyle as a viable alternative to heterosexuality.
*]Appropriate executive orders, regulations and legislation banning the compiling, maintenance and dissemination of information on an individual’s sexual preferences, behavior, and social and political activities for dossiers and data banks.
*]Federal funding of aid programs of Gay men’s and women’s organizations designed to alleviate the problems encountered by Gay women and men which are engendered by an oppressive sexist society.
*]Immediate release of all Gay women and men now incarcerated in detention centers, prisons and mental institutions because of sexual offense charges relating to victimless crimes or sexual orientation; and that adequate compensation be made for the physical and mental duress encountered; and that all existing records relating to the incarceration be immediately expunged.
    State:

    1. *]All federal legislation and programs enumerated in Demands 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 above should be implemented at the State level where applicable.
*]Repeal of all state laws prohibiting private sexual acts involving consenting persons; equalization for homosexuals and heterosexuals for the enforcement of all laws.
*]Repeal all state laws prohibiting solicitation for private voluntary sexual liaisons; and laws prohibiting prostitution, both male and female.
*]Enactment of legislation prohibiting insurance companies and other state-regulated enterprises from discriminating because of sexual orientation, in insurance and in bonding or any other prerequisite to employment or control of one’s personal demesne.
*]Enactment of legislation so that child custody, adoption, visitation rights, foster parenting, and the like shall not be denied because of sexual orientation or marital status.
*]Repeal of all laws prohibiting transvestism and cross-dressing.
*]Repeal of all laws governing the age of sexual consent.
*]Repeal of all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit; and the extension of legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers.
**“The greatest single victory of the gay movement over the past decade has been to shift the debate from behavior to identity, thus forcing opponents into a position where they can be seen as attacking the civil rights of homosexual citizens.”
From The Homosexualization of America, by homosexual activist Dennis Altman. **

So, tolerating people makes you one of them.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to tell all my black, female, muslim, chinese, jewish, humane, nice-to-hang-around etc. friends. I’m sure they don’t want to tolerate anyone else!

In order to speak sincerely about this, you must differentiate between people and the actions that people do. This is not about people, this is about the actions they take. Stop insulting our intellegence. No authentic Catholic or Christian hates homosexuals. However, ALL authentic Catholics and Chrsitians should hate homosexual activities and the promotion of homosexual activities (and heterosexual activities outside of marriage as well).

The AFA led boycotts of Ford and McDonald’s worked, by the way.

Amen to that. The phrase “Gay Agenda” always sounds there’s some kind clandestine worldwide council of same-sex attracted people headed by a secret sect on the lines of SEELE in “Neon Genesis Evangelion”. Bisexual here, and after five years of identifying as such, I’m still wondering if there was some kind of information packet I was supposed to get, or if… I dunno, the Men In Pink (as opposed to the Men In Black) were supposed to contact me and try and brainwash me. They’re gonna have another thought coming if they do. Yes, I just read the 1972 Gay Rights Platform, and as far as I can see, it’s more of a “Hey, please treat us like regular people; here’s where it can start” sort of thing, as opposed to “:: Cartoon Villain Laugh:: Now, here’s our evil plan to take over the world and make all of the human race pink and sparkly!”

If Pepsi is on sale, I buy it. If Coke is on sale I buy it. If Pizza Hut has a better deal than Papa John’s I order it and visa versa.

My family and I drive Fords, period.

If folks want to boycott, have at it. However, don’t use fear mongering and scare tactics to get those to follow it…and make it sound like it is coming down from the Vatican. Which it isn’t.

I have seen “lists” thrown around on these boards for years. I wonder how many people have sought out caves and lean-to’s because the boycott list is sooooooooo long and is connected to everything else?

The answer: NONE

Pepsi advertises on the Internet. Most every site you go to will blast, flash, pop up and ad someone, someone, somewhere may find objectionable.

I remember one about not dealing with a realtor or real estate company if some of their agents or brokers are gay. What do they do, “wave a wand” to test for gayness?

You better stop banking then and put your money under the mattress!

This is so ridiculas.

Pepsi is in the grocery stores. Are you boycotting them too? The check out clerk may be gay 🤷 you don’t really know, but you “suspect”. Do you go to another check out line?

Paranoia, reigns supreme.

Stop scaring people into going to hell in a handbasket…there is no gay agenda.

Geez louise…snap out of it.:slapfight:

Lines in green are mine.

*So does my dad; his father worked as a painter in the Ford plant in Somerville, Massachusetts till it closed down, so he still has a certain loyalty to the company. *

Heh, if someone else hadn’t said it, I would have, since I work in the check out of a grocery store.

Paranoia, reigns supreme.

Love that slapfight smiley, and it couldn’t be more fitting! :: Giggles::

I am not sure if this post reflect eternal optimism, a subversive attack on Christian morals or a total lack of understanding of current events. Whatever it is, it, at best, portrays life on another planet.

You forgot gay doctors, lawyers, police officers, firefighters…I’m sorry you have to stop putting out the fire in my home…you’re gay, I’d rather be homeless then have a gay man try to save my home…
Where does it end…the day I got the e-mail about not going to McDonalds…I went and got a happy meal!! I don’t want anyone telling me where I can and can not spend my money or what I can or can not spend it on, based on their opinions…
If the Church, (big C) were to come out and say not to go to these places, well then that would be different. But to not go to McDonalds or not buy pepsi because my homophobic friend said so…not going to happen! It’s a good thing I don’t drink pop…I’d be having an ice cold Pepsi right now…wait, they bottle iced tea and lemonade too, time to load up the kid and head to Wally World, oh wait, aren’t they boycotting them for not treating their employees well?..DARN, can’t go anywhere these days:D

Please do not give way to cynicism.

I called them, spoke to a very nice lady, and suggested that instead of giving money to corporations/organizations/etc. that support the gay political agenda they give money to organizations that attempt to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in the gay community. I told her very nicely about the moral problems and social problems that I have with the gay political agenda that I feel have been incorrectly portrayed by the media. I also said that I support no violence against homosexuals and I am supportive of programs that attempt to prevent hate but that is entirely separate from gay marriage, which is not a civil rights issue and affects many others.

It weakens marriage in general. I have seen statistics that show that countries that have allowed gay marriage now have many more unwed pregnancies and the concept of marriage in general is being weakened. I also read (don’t remember where) that the battle in those countries has changed from gay marriage to polygamy in order to allow “sperm donors” and etc. into the marriage. Furthermore, there are books of child (now adult) survivors of gay households who testify to the psychological abuse, lack of morality, and exposure to abuse and disease that they faced. Gay marriage only paves the way for societal acceptability gay adoptions, which may be unhealthy.

She was happy to hear of my opinion and asked questions. She also volunteered to write a note to the supervisor. I seriously believe that many such calls would have an impact. Perhaps they will switch from promoting organizations that advocate the gay political agenda to organizations that prevent violence against homosexuals, combat the STDs and promiscuity widely prevalent in the gay community, e.g. in Canada, 60% of HIV/AIDS cases are gay men, and encourage honest Christian love of homosexuals. But how many gay men are there? Aren’t gay men only about 2% of the community?

You handled it beautifully! That is the way to get your message out. You told them how you feel and why you feel that way. And you went right to the company! Not only did you get to speak your mind, they saw that you are respectful, which, in my opinion, will go further then someone yelling boycott!

Thank you for your compliments!! May Christ and Mary be honored by our words!! 😛 🙂 😛 Here are the phone numbers:

Probably it will take from 5- 10 minutes, shorter than a Most Holy Rosary 😉 although it might help to pray a Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet for the conversation before one makes the call!

So many of the anti-Straight and pro-homosexual people posting on this thread make really profoundly insulting statements like:
You forgot gay doctors, lawyers, police officers, firefighters…I’m sorry you have to stop putting out the fire in my home…you’re gay, I’d rather be homeless then have a gay man try to save my home…
This is just a mean-spirited and hateful twisting of Catholic teaching. These are the hateful statements

No authentic Christian hates homosexuals. Authentic Christians hate the grave sin of homosexual activity. Statements like the one above not only falsley state Christian teaching, they promote hate against Christians. This is nothing less than the Big Lie.

It is not charity to affirm someone in their sin. When you do, their blood is on your hour hands. See Ezekiel 3:17-21.

That poster has no credibility.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the same people who promote this sort of boycott, complain when some pro-gay organizations promote a counter-boycott against companies that give money to anti-gay initiatives.

I’m anti-straight…thank you I needed a laugh today!! Being as I am a straight, married Catholic woman, I think you could be a little off on that one.
I do hate the grave sin, but I don’t think boycotting Pepsi is going to stop anyone from being gay. And people running around pointing out how others are sinning is what makes non-Christians hate Christians. There is a right way and a wrong way to handle things. My post that you took so much issue with was a response to someone else who was asking where do you draw the line. Do you not use the services, ie, dr’s, lawyers, the cashier at the store, of homosexuals only because they are homosexual? If you feel by giving these people your business it is promoting their agenda, which not all gay’s have an agenda by the way. Then don’t use a gay lawyer and line hop at the grocery store. But please do not forget that they are still God’s people and deserve respect. You don’t have to agree with someone to give them respect. As I don’t agree with you, but feel I am being much more respectful of you then you were of me. I have not said anything about your credibilty as you stated about mine.
I’m guessing you didn’t read my next post which applauded AveSantaMaria on how she handled calling Pepsi. If more Christians behaved in that manner, we might win more souls for Christ, instead of judging and being insulting.
