I’ll have to ask Steve Martin. It would be important to get his opinion about it. But then, the movie was called ‘The Jerk’…maybe that explains it. :dancing:

Those are still the names of nationalities. I suppose the word I was looking for was “Asian.”

Yes. I would think it would be self evident. The only thing that may not be self evident is that there is room in Judaism for the belief that Christianity is right for Christians. And that God speaks to other peoples in other ways.

I prefer just to call everyone ‘peeps.’ Nobody that knows anything about easter candy can possibly take offense to that… and if they don’t know what that is, then they just assume I’m a looney (oops, no offense to our Canadian peeps).

Christ was a jew as were the first christians…🙂 Since jews are still waiting for the messiah and the christians claim that the messiah has already appeared, the jews only have to stop waiting and believe in the messiah as personafied in christ.
 
My time here is over-this is more a site for yelling opinions and stating forceful, rude and overbearing remarks that are scandalous for a "“religious’” forum

I always keep God’s chosen people in my prayers

Life is always simple without complications and yet with complications life can be simple. It is as simple as that.

Was Christ the long awaited Jewish messiah? If yes, you are a christian. If no, you are still waiting.

You are right. But it is only a minority of people who do so. I think that most members of this forum are not so derrogatory toward other faiths. Don’t give up. Stay on board and instill changes of heart in some of the posters here.

One thing to keep in mind is that the very definition of Messiah means one thing to a Christian and another thing to a Jew. Like so many things in the Scripture, we look at the same thing and reach different conclusions.

When I say “Judaism” what I mean is Torah observance. The only spirituality for Jews is Torah observance as outlined by God in the Torah. This is not my creation, but what God Himself has said.

Because this forum (unlike similar ones I’ve been on), only gives you about 6 PMs and then no one can send you any till you clear the box out–and I’d wanted to save some that I was sent. So since I could not send or receive any beyond 6 or so, I had to go public.

If there is any statement by Christians that I find annoying, its the one that says that just because Jesus was a Jew, that somehow makes him the messiah and Jews should believe in him.

Simply BEING Jewish means NOTHING. Shabtai Zvi was also a Jew, yet he was a false messiah and ended up converting to Islam.

Meyer Lansky was a gangster, but he was Jewish. Does that mean he should be a role model for Jews to become gangsters?
