There is someone in my Parish pushing for The Dismal of catechumens in between Advent and lent as well during advent and lent. Is this allowed? Is this the way it should be?

The dismissal can be done with the unbaptized from the very beginning of their journey. It isn’t limited to Lent.

See paragraphs 81-89 in the Rite book and paragraph 67. Catechumens can be dismissed the whole time, not just in Lent. Indeed that is the preference, although there is an option for them to remain in the dismissal rite.

The Rite Of Acceptance was last Sunday, so my question should be is it mandatory for The dismal to happen Advent than end of Easter

Dismissal isn’t mandatory, although it’s preferred. Read the rite book, paragraph 67 includes the rite for dismissal— A and B for catechumens leaving and C if they are staying. Paragraphs 81-89 explain the dismissal.

No timeframes are listed.

Most parishes that don’t do dismissal during the entire catechumenate limit it due to man power issues— not enough volunteers to run it the whole time. So maybe they just do it during Lent.

It should really be done the whole time.

And why do we do the dismal? It was told to me because the Unbaptized people shouldn’t be near the Eucharist, which I’ve never heard
