Permission to use condoms!

šŸ˜¦ An African cardinal has given permission for married couples to use condoms when one partner has HIV/Aids.

In 1930 the Lambeth Conference gave permission for married people to use contraceptives only for very serious reasons. Look where we are now.

I was not aware that ANY cardinal/priest could rewrite church teachings. Now, to be honest, I do know of priests who have been less than faithful about appplying the same rules to all people. What does the Pope have to say about this ā€œpermissionā€ that was given?

Also, I would insist on seeing the cardinalā€™s words in full and in context. We have seen too many quote snippets cobbled together to make plenty of news smoke but no fire.

If the persmission was only for husband/wife in the context of having HIV, I donā€™t see so much of an issue, unless the Vatican said no. Yes there is self control but what if a husband forces a wife??
 
Then it seems the Vatican ruling on Condom use is the last of their problems
