anyhow… dont know if you’ve spent much time in the Real Presence, but to me that is the ultimte personal relationsjhip with Jesus…

so to say that Catholics dont have this personal relationship w/ Jesus is… uh… well, i have to say some of them dont… it seems MOST Catholics dont spend any appreciable time There… but the one who do… 🙂
Mayita 30 is Catholic !!! All devoted Catholics will receive the Body/Blood on weekly basis. But, we will pray in the spirit many times daily. And, when ever 2/3 are gathered to worship, there is Christ in their midst. Confession, Baptism, Confirmation, etc … all our Sacraments are the ultimate experience ------- but, prayer & meditation are the more frequent means of our experiencing Christ on daily basis. 🙂

the Mass is the ultimate means of experiencing Jesus…

the Mass is the ultimate prayer…

after that is the Exposed Sacrament… Real Precence…

Is this what Christ and his Apostles teach in scriptures ? If you still say YES,
I beg to differ with your read of scriptures.

I’m not denegrating the Mass by any means. It is the ultimate action of the Church body … our unified worship of the Trinity. But, what are we taught by Jesus is the unpardonable sin — thereby pointing out to us the ultimate way we experience Him ?

proud to be Catholic??? Pride comes b4 a fall…

just giving you a hard time…

because i (bill clinton moment:D) … could… 😃

Sure! you are absolutely right! Eucahristic Adoration and receiving communion is a personal relationship with God!!! no objections on that one:thumbsup:

Personal prayers like Morning and Evening Prayer and also Spiritual Communion can be done at home or anyplace outside the Church…

I get up close and personal with Jesus every day. In the Eucharist we are assimilated into Jesus. That’s as personal a relationship as you can get! 🙂

not sure i u/stand this…

but if one goes to Mass as often as possbble one will begin to know "all " truth… or i should say s/he has the ability to know truth… no human being can hold all God’s truth in his frail vessel

but again, not sure i get what you are saying

you can pray at home but the Real Presence is not there. He is in the Church

God’s Real Presence is in the eucharist but his real presence is still in my home in the form of the Holy spirit threfore I do my daily and evening prayers. The holy spirit is present in my home and everywhere I go…

the Sacraments are not a personal relationship with Jesus. Sacraments are ways Jesus delivers His Grace to us. and as with my earlier statement, the Sacraments not only forms a bond between ourselves and Jesus, it also forms a bond between ourselves and His Church. i don’t think there’s anything in the Church that would purely isolate yourself and Jesus from everyone else, the view is always communal because that is what the Church is, a community of believers
This Morning I held Jesus in my hands and then followed his admonition to eat hos body and drink his blood. How can a relationship get more personal than that?

The disconnect is that for all those who do not believe in the Real Presence, they cannot, perhaps, even comprehend that experience. Sad. 😦

Prayer is just as personal … indeed, it is our prayers that make the Eucharist efficacious to us.

We are taught to pray w/o ceasing … not as often for the Eucharist. Eucharist is our GROUP experience with Christ [as often as we meet… says the scriptures].

I pray “The Hourss” but there is absolutely nothing that even comes close to recievingOur Lords Body and Blood. The Real presence is what sets Catholics apart from all other deniminations. Without the opportunity to recieve Jesus in the Flesh any “personal realtionship” is pale shadow of the real thing.

well, a lot more gets done in the presence (real presence) of Jesus Christ, which is only in the Catholic Church (meaning in a tangible way). The Word says that the will of God will be accomplished through Jesus Christ - no one else. So it behooves us to spend as much time There as possible. Whne we are out in the world, even in our own homes (unless we live completely alone maybe), we are still out in the world…

i heard that Pope JP II didn’t teach this - about the Real Presence and how He is there tangibly, in a unique way… But the saints and other popes did. And i know from experience

i totally agree. I have heard SO many Catholics say “Jesus is everywhere”.

Really? Then why is their partial birth abortion? Why is there massive corruption… crime… lack of courtesy… lack of truth… fornication… adultery… i could go on and on …

As stated elsewhere the Word says that the will of God will be accomplished through Jesus and what better way to find His will than to be in His presence? No one knows us but Him…

how do you feel about Mother Teresa saying that the worst problem in the Church today is Communion in hand?

i was out of the Church for many yrs (up to about 15 yrs ago) When i came back the Church did Communion in hand, which i wasn’t used to… but i got used to it. Then i heard that many really devout Catholics dont believe in that and we shouldn’t do it… The priest is the only one who is supposed to touch Jesus. So i went back to receiving on the tongue and it felt u/comfrtable for awhile but got used to it and now i wont do it any other way unless i have a cold or something.

I am also against hand-holding during the Our Father and greeting ea other during mass… hate tht stuff. I dont like the Vat II changes…

just wondering where you stand on those things…🙂

VERY sad… the things people miss by not being Roman Catholic.

I was SO lost b4 i found the Real Presence and the power of the Mass.

and it IS hard to tell people about such wondeful things when they do not have half a clue…

I guess i woudnnt have a clue either if… i hadn’t been baptized Catholic… So i try to always remember to have patience w/ those who have not been so blessed… not easy but they really are ignorant… .and through not fault of their own (usually)😦

True, they all have prayer. But, even we need prayer/meditation/fasting prior to receipt of Eucharist … to make it most beneficial for us.

Without us first properly disposed by prayer & confession … all our other Sacraments are just formulaic.

If a person as a problem with CITH they should recieve communion on the tongue
