PETA Resumes Display on Animal Cruelty

One more time off the deep end for the group every one loves to hate.

The Animal Liberation Project involves a display of panels juxtaposing graphic images of slavery and other human abuse with pictures of chained animals.

I know I have always equated food preparation with the injustice of slavery.

I don’t approve of their tactics but I think we’d all be healther if we ate less meat. I just wish cows weren’t so tasty.

PETA’s nuts and I love beef, but I have to admit that some of the big factory farms are pretty abominable. It’s one thing to butcher an animal, but it’s something else to raise it in torturous conditions for its entire life.

(And beyond the basic problems of animal cruelty, it makes the meat taste nowhere near as good, to boot. Stress hormones flavor meat, and it’s not an improvement.)

Shouldn’t these people be down on the Gulf coast helping the thousands of displaced pets??? I could be wrong, but I haven’t heard of PETA lifting one finger to help them. All they are doing is point their fingers at everyone else and telling them to go do something. I guess there just wouldn’t be enough attention or media coverage with going down to the Gulf and actually living up to their animal worshiping propaganda.

I looked at the web site - pretty general political stuff. I didn’t see any indication of how many are in the rescue team or who is on the team. Any of the celebrities? It also looks like they haven’t rescued that many animals. When you are able to write an entire paragraph on each animal you rescue, either there aren’t that many pets to be found or you’re not getting much done. However, they are more than willing to ask for your money in about 100 different places.

HSUS seems like they are leading the effort with a team of over 300 people, no paragragh-long stories on each animal, and no political agenda. Just helping.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not condone at all making animals suffer. I have several pets and treat them very well. However, we need to keep things in perspective, and not equate animals with humans. Why? you ask, because it is commanded to us from almighty God.

Remember when Moses led the Israelites out Egypt. God was able to get Israel out of Egypt, but then He had to get Egypt out of Israel. The Egyptians were pagans that worshiped animals, and when Moses went up into Mt. Sinai the Israelites built an idol in the form of a calf and began to worship it, just like when they were in Egypt.

This offended God so much that he commanded the Israelites to begin slaughtering certain types animals on an alter and eat them. This is why the burnt offerings smelled so sweet to the Lord, because it was evidence of man’s fidelity to the one true God and departure from animal worship.

PETA’s mascot should be a golden calf.

I never said I supported PETA, I just directed you to their website which is a good place to find out whether or not they are involved in the Katrina situation.

Fair enough. I have a major soft spot for animals, but I’m more likely to support the humane society as an organization.

I guess if this campaign doesn’t work it will be the holocaust they marginalize next.

Sadly, the PETA people have an agenda that includes opposition to having animals as pets.
The Humane Society, as well as a number of other animal welfare groups, has a much better record for actually helping animals, as opposed to getting on the front page of the news.

Sorry to sound like a cranky old lady, but around here, we have had some PETA protests than involved them killing animals.
Not sick or injured animals, “enslaved” ones ( translation: owned by someone) .
