Bob is exagerrating a bit. There are no Catholics who worship the Pope. It seems Bob is equating a belief in papal infallibility(which we hold) with a belief in papal impeccability (which no one holds).

Even with the Pope’s choice of toothpaste or baseball team? People who say the Pope is infallible **in everything **is either misinformed or are downright dishonest.

I agree. I find it strange that calling these people nut cases and all that garbage is tolerated, while no one would dare ever say anything like that about the protestants or mohameddans,
who hold truly absurd beliefs.
These people are Catholics, they reject no tenents of the faith that I can see.
Here the Eastern Orthodox, true schismatics, and proud of it, outrightly reject the whole idea of the papacy, and we clamor to heap praise on the “eastern lung” and their noble traditions.
Weird.
If you don’t agree with the Sedevacantist opinion, refute it. Leave the childish name calling on the playground.

Well, we’ve been doing that…but you obviously do not think that is the case…others see it as a fact. No one can declare it…but we can recognise it.

You apparently believe the sedevacantist thesis is impossible…others do not. If there is nothing for you to debate then why do you participate in these discussions?

Well, if we take all the Freemasons and Jews out of the church, and all the “New Church” folk, that leaves about…no priest and bishops.

Sedevacantists sound like tinfoil hat-wearers because

A: It involves conspiracy theories
B: Its implications mean the gates of hell prevailed against the church

Unless of course you’d actually have us believe that we’ll get a Pope again one day that is valid given the current situation.

I’d love to hear the path to getting a real successor to Pius XII and how the Church rewrite 50 plus years of history

If the sedevacantist thesis is irrefutably true, then for the same reason there is nothing for you to debate in here.

Besides, the OP was asking a valid question and he didn’t specify that this thread is “only” meant for schismatics. With all due respect, it is the OP and not you who is to decide who will respond to his question.
 
So called sedevacantism is non-catholic, since Vatican I it was defined in the dogmatic constitution on the Church “Pastor Aeternus” that there will be successors to St Peter upon the Apostolic See until Christ returns.
 
Seriously though.

Since the sedevacantist position is clearly rooted in their conviction that the Popes since John XXIII were heretics and hence are not true Popes at all, I would like to ask any serious sedevacantist here some questions:
  1. Since heresy is a serious sin, if the Pope loses the Papacy because of heresy, does he automatically regain the papacy if he makes a good private confession?
  2. Now, similarly, does a new but heretical Pope-elect suddenly assume the Papacy if he makes a similar confession?
 
There is no proof of the popes’ since Blessed John XXIII teaching or holding heresy this is just slander and conjecture.
They may not have been very authorotative in governing the Church but that doesn’t make them heretics.

Not hardly…the reason to discuss the SV thesis is that it is an accurate ascessment of the current state of the Church. You tend to just make cute jokes about it that appeal only to those who hold your absolute view…it seems now you have actually asked a few real questions…and that is fine with me.

When I asked you why you responded I was actually asking you to consider why you were participating…I have no problem with your participation…I just don’t see the point in it when you only make jokes about it…those responses are not serious.

No I believe Benedict is the Pope. Obviously since I attend the
Novus Ordo. But I dont really have any Idea what that has to do with the glaring double standard evident in these threads, which I was pointing out in my first post. 👍
