But isn’t that small “c”, meaning universal? They say the Nicene for sure, I believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Ahh…if they say it in Greek it’s “K”.But isn’t that small “c”, meaning universal?
The Nicene Creed does use the word “one”. The Apostles’ Creed does not use the word “one” (or “apostolic” for that matter). Both usually appear with “catholic” rendered with a lower-case “c” (I have seen it capitalized in the Apostles’ Creed from Catholic sources). Yes it means universal. What it doesn’t mean is Roman. Which is why Lutherans, Anglicans and many other protestant denominations use both these creeds. And in the case of the Nicene, as already mentioned, used by the Eastern Orthodox, who see in their church an unbroken apostolic succession.Ahh…if they say it in Greek it’s “K”.
No matter, catholic/Catholic/Katolik…whatever refers to THE ONE HOLY C APOSTOLIC church.
ONE means ONE…the ONE Christ Instituted, which by definition & Scripture is Universal ie “throughout the world”.
I’m not aware of any other translation of catholic than “universal”.

I was just curious. Many regular forumers here have in fact already made their positions clear concerning the sedevacantist issue. No I believe Benedict is the Pope. Obviously since I attend the
Novus Ordo. But I dont really have any Idea what that has to do with the glaring double standard evident in these threads, which I was pointing out in my first post.
It is allowed here in the Traditional Catholicism Forum, but only here.I thought Sedevaticanist threads weren’t allowed here at all the mods need to come in a do some house cleaning.

That’s exactly what my protestant sister keeps reminding me of. Eye roll and all.©
Speaking of extraneous punctuation, I did see the Apostles’ Creed online somewhere with a little asterisk attached to “catholic”. The note carefully explained: *****The word “catholic” refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
And the DIFFERENCE is?©

The difference is that protestants can recite the Apostles Creed without compromising their belief that the Catholic Church is NOT the church instituted by Christ. And the DIFFERENCE is?
I hear ya! But they will be happy to try and 'splain it to you!And the DIFFERENCE is?
