Pets afterlife?

Just because a person loves and spends money on their pets doesn’t they don’t care for fellow mankind. I love my ducks and spend money when needed on vet bills, food, water,ect… When I am down, I can go to them and they’ll help out my sufferings. This is just one case. There are pets and animals around the world that bring tons of joy to kids with leukemia, heart trouble, mental defects ect… Chances are if you have or had kids, they watched a show where an animal did funny tricks or whatever and made them laugh. Not too mention the pets that work in law enforcement, rescue services. I understand that pets are not on the same level as humans, but I fear a world where humans would spend money on their pets. They are God’s creations too and when I see an animal I see His handy work in them.

I used to think this. I told it to my friend when she lost her dog. She was really made upset by it. At the time I did not understand why, but since then I have lived with a cat for 7 years. If someone were to tell me that, now, I’d be just as upset with them. Having had a pet has allowed me to go through growth that I would never have otherwise. Doesn’t God want us each to grow as individuals?

In this case, the human. I don’t know the dog, nor do I care about it.

HOWEVER, if it were my cat as the animal and my father as the human, I would tend to the cat first.

I agree. I love my cat. He is one of only three creatures I call “my buddy” – the other two are my brother, and my deceased great-grandmother. I fully expect when my time comes, I will see my great-grandmother one on side and my cat on the other…but not next to each other, she never liked cats much. 🙂

  • The Bible and Sacred Revelation primarily concern themselves with the Redemption and Salvation of Human souls (rational souls are free-choosing and willing) Souls.
  • Vegetative, animal souls are not a concern of God’s Revelation (per se) and are not taught in the Bible or Church as existing in Heaven.
  • It is important to cultivate an appropriate understanding of Heaven- which effects your view of what is in Heaven-i.e., that we don’t need anything other than God, and that the all-consuming desire within our souls and “restless hearts” would be quenched by God Himself-without any need for anything else-even though we would be in a Mystical Communion with Mary and all the Saints. We won’t then have any other desires for possessions of any kind.
  • Consider your attachment level to your pet-is it ordinate or inordinate? How about your desire for Union with God-and that He will Himself be all for you without anything, anyone else needed or desired.
  • Given the “openness” of the regeneration of the universe and restoration of the original state of the world (stated above), it is up to God Himself if animals are part of His re-generative Plan. Endpoint: Enjoy God in Heaven, whatever else comes is extra, but focus on God’s Blissful Love first!

DrFloyd and others who have posted here, radiate a love, that you do not. And maybe you ***are ***a caring, loving person, but have trouble in expressing that through words. (I suspect that you are–and we are misunderstanding you.)

God created animals and they are beautiful–and not just as pets–and perhaps not even to ***be ***pets. I think that animals teach us many things–including appreciating God. God wants our hearts to swell and grow wide–not to shrivel and become small.

God created animals–they are His–think about how you treat them because they are God’s. And think about how you treat and talk to people who love God’s animals. Are they less because they love God’s animals, or are they more???

I am betting on the more.

buffalo: I don’t know if I disagree with anything that you have written–but it is so COLD. Text-bookish, unfeeling, robotic. My comments are intended as constructive criticism. You need to find a way to speak to the people so that they can hear you. Maybe if you took on a pet, or started to give seed to the birds, or took a walk in the woods–it would help your voice to come through.❤️ I really hate to press the button to send this–because I fear you will take this the wrong way. I am honestly trying to give you constructive criticism.:hug1:

I admit I have not read through the entire thread. But I’ve just always wondered. If God created the animals to be with him in Eden, why would he not want them with him in Heaven?

I have always believed that God = love.

My cat loves me unconditionally.

Thus, doesn’t my cat have a spark of God in him?
