Actually, I don’t have anything really against “house husbands.” if that is what one chooses in their own situation, no skin off of my nose. I mean if a wife wants to wear the pants and the “man” of the house wants to wear an apron, who am I to pass judgment? Then again, I’m old school which today is just a euphemism for a “hater” because I don’t agree with the societal drift. I just now understand why, as “President” Obama seemed to play golf about 200 times a year. (sorta goes with the whole HH idea.)

Obama wasn’t a “house husband” any more than I am. I work. He worked. Our wives made more than we did. That’s all there is to it.

Talk about his (or my) wife “wearing the pants,” or putting “man” in quotes, says a heck of a lot more about you than it does about me. Or Barack Obama.

Got some insecurities, do you? Sounds like it.

Do you think I’m not a “man”? Do you think being married to a really smart woman who makes more money than I do makes me something less than a man?

My wife, and my children, would disagree with you.

Insecurities, no, viewpoints on where society is going, yes. I certainly have admiration for anyone with a law degree from Harvard, and someone in that position is going to out earn virtually, 98% of America.

As to your being a man? Well, forum rules prohibit ad hominem attacks, so any opinion I might offer about socialists who believe in feminism and the policies of LBJ and Obama would probably be off the reservation. You and I don’t see things in the same light, probably as much in reference to generation as to character values. And the fact that you are unwilling to indicate any religious affiliation on your “avatar” leaves me no room for trying to understand why you think the way you do. So, simply, best left anything further unsaid.

The title of this thread is “Obama-Greatest President in our Lifetime” My answer is that Obama was as proficient as his golf game. And having been a golf professional who was adept at teaching the game, Obama’s golf swing looked like an 85 year old lady trying to beat a masher off with an umbrella.

My religious affiliation is Catholic. I’m hardly “unwilling” to indicate that. Everyone who knows me knows I’m a Catholic. I grew up Catholic, attended Catholic grammar school (St. Joan of Arc, Queens, New York), Catholic high school (Regis High School, a Jesuit school, also in New York City), and one year of Catholic college (seminary, actually, although I came to realize I didn’t have a true vocation) at LeMoyne College, in upstate New York (another Jesuit institution). I go to Mass every Sunday, and once in a while during the week, too, when I can find the time. You’d think I’d have more time, being a house husband and all, but hey, it’s tough, with a demanding job and two small children and an elderly father who needs care.

Despite your insinuations, I’m hardly trying to hide the fact that I’m a Catholic.

And, wow, Obama isn’t just not really a man, but a bad golfer, too? Hey, you’ve converted me.

When one lists no religious affiliation, it is reasonable to think one is unwilling to.

Your answers to posts indicate you are decidedly in the socialist camp (by your love of LBJ’s programs). Your bent is decidedly liberal, and it is not unreasonable to think you may well be agnostic or atheistic by your positions. That you are Catholic explains a lot, and makes me glad I did not reply to your previous posts in an uncharitable or antagonistic manner. (though I doubt you see it that way) It is apparent that you are a liberal democrat championing your side. I am not, I find Johnson, Clinton, and Obama a disaster and a disgrace. I think we should just let history decide who qualifies for best President. Kids for example vote for the funniest things. They like Washington and Lincoln… at least at the elementary level. I guess they see them on money the most… I don’t understand why adults even ask the question. I guess it’s like asking who the greatest boxer was or who the greatest NFL team is or… you get it, right? The Poll was probably taken just to make one side or the other mad. Hey, it might even be a Russian bot type of thing… ? Just let history decide and let’s all be friends, countrymen and countrywomen…

I thought Pres. Obama was smart, personable, usually dressed well and showed respect for those he agreed with. I think there were hateful, ugly things said about him and his wife by some of the ignorant among our population.

I not think he was a genius or the smartest or greatest president in my life time. I do not think he spoke eloquently or was very nice to those who thought differently than he did. He jumped the gun several times speaking negatively about someone or a situation before he knew all the facts, thus dividing. Politically, there was very little that I agreed with him on. I was very happy to see a person of color elected, I just wish it had been somebody else.

I can’t believe that people accuse Obama of lying when Trump has set a record for the number of his lies. On June 1, the Washington Post had counted 3,251 false or misleading claims from Mr. Trump since he took office. Just a couple of days ago, he criticized his host, British Prime Minister Theresa May, in an interview published by the Sun and then the following day said that it was fake news. He said this in spite of the fact that the Sun had recorded the interview. An article today in the Washington Post pointed out that a week earlier, Trump sent out a tweet claiming that he had never supported a GOP-drafted immigration bill even though three days earlier he tweeted in all caps, "HOUSE REPUBLICANS SHOULD PASS THE STRONG BUT FAIR IMMIGRATION BILL.” As one reporter noted about his second tweet, “He didn’t even bother to delete the old one.”
