I remember when my parents had a cabin in Pennsylvania. Every year in late summer they had a copperhead hunt in which they would round up all the copperheads from the campgrounds and move them to another location outside the campground area. The man who arranged this snake hunt had a snake farm in Red Lion I believe. One year he brought a Black-necked spitting cobra to the campground. I remember he had him in a fairly large area that was fenced off from the people. This species of cobra is known to spit venom and bite with only the slightest provocation. He had a long prod which he “prodded” the snake to get it to eject venom from his fangs. He wore a welders helmet with the shield down. From twenty plus feet that cobra would spit the venom right into the eyes of his tormentor. I was absolutely stunned at it’s accuracy!!!

 
No worries there Cajun, there are no cobras native to the U.S. I hear you loud and clear about those cottonmouths though!!!
