water - I like it. One of the more beautiful “planned” Novus Ordo parishes. But where is the tabernacle?
The altar is huge, and I believe the tabernacle is the right place, there is a kneeler near there and people like to knee there to pray.Oh, I see where it is it now.
The traditionalist in me screams for it to be directly behind in the altar, but I like how it is up there and not in a seperate room.
Overall, I really like the looks of that parish.
Why attend an SPPX chapel? This isn’t my local church, but it is the one I plan on starting to attend.

I totally agree with that. It’s a gorgeous post-Vatican II church. Very awe-inspiring!!!Water,
you said that your parish church is brand new? Sweet Elizabeth! It’s so beautiful! That is probably by far one of the most beautiful churches post-Vatican II that I have ever seen.
How’s the liturgy, though?
I understand what you’re saying, but honestly, if the sanctuary is as beautiful as that, then by golly, spread the wealth!Water,
I love the religious art in your church, the Latin inscription at the top, some of the architecture - I just don’t like the fact that there is soooooooo much space between the altar and the wall, and that the sanctuary is soooooooooooooooooo large.

I didn’t mention before that the Masses at Holy Redeemer are Masses that Pope Benedict would be proud of! The choir and music choices are orthodox, too. This parish also has Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration!.
Here’s an old church in Madison, WI that just celebrated it’s sesquicentennial-- 150 years!!! - Holy Redeemer Parish.
LOTS of pictures at oremusmusic.net/photos.php, I will only post one picture here.
BEAUTIFUL church, a virtual Church history done in art!
See the website for LOTS of beautiful pictures!

These pictures people have posted are absolutely beautiful, but I agree with this. We must remind ourselves that it isn’t the building, artwork and trappings that make a church…I understand what you’re saying, but honestly, if the sanctuary is as beautiful as that, then by golly, spread the wealth!![]()
I know what it’s like to have that kind of church. Before our new Church was built, or old one was not very nice. It had white walls, and didn’t even have pews, just regular chairs. Besides that, there was the altar, and that’s about it. However, we had the most excellent priest that the plainness of the building didn’t even matter. These pictures people have posted are absolutely beautiful, but I agree with this. OK. I admit it. Our parish is meeting in a local high school cafeteria so I could be a little envious.
I’d need a crash course in picture posting 101 to share pictures or our mass, but I don’t think anyone would be impressed:blush:

As often happens to me as I read the threads at CAF, I am stunned by the unkindness of some of the posts in response to this photo. I personally think it is quite lovely, and as another poster has suggested, it only shows one angle…how can anyone know where is the tabenacle, statues, etc.?http://www.audiosystemsgroup.com/stmarpf1a.jpg
This is a picture from before they put in carpet and stuff, but it looks basically the same now.
