Voted. It’s interesting that I live here in Cincinnati and hadn’t heard of this. Of course I don’t subcribe to the local paper so that’s probably why.

It truly saddens me to see this sort of thing even after Pope JP II came out and said that he couldn’t ordain women priests becuase he didn’t have the authority to change this teaching. He, the supreme pontiff of the Catholic Church and vicar of Christ has said that he does not have the authority to ordain women as priests.

Sorry folks but that basically closes the issue in the Church.

Unlike other Denominations the Catholic Church (also the Christian [Eastern] Orthodoxy) does not ‘underline’, nor ‘highlight’ certain specific Bible passages in order to satisfy various specific segments of those other Denominations’ congregations.
Catholic Church doctrine embraces and believes the ENTIRE Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and everything else within those Chapters and Verses in-between.

Hence, the Catholic Church is a true ‘Bible Church’.

The teachings inspired from God in the Bible’s Old Testament, and from God through Jesus in the Bible’s New Testament, prohibits female clergy.
It is a simple as that. It is all explained within the Bible, folks.

One either believes in the entire Bible or one does not.
As Catholics we also must embrace the entire Bible; unlike those Cafeteria Catholics whom ‘pick-and-choose’ to believe only certain specific parts of the Bible of whatever suits their private and public thoughts, then go on to misinterpret the remainder as those other denominations have been doing since the Reformation.

The Bible does not in and of itself prohibit female clergy. The Church recognizes, for instance, that it does not, in and of itself, prohibit women deacons.

However, the Church does prohibit female clergy. This nun, like all Catechists, is expected to adhere to Church teaching. If she can’t keep from public dissent, she needs to stay out of the role of catechist. No one is saying she should be pilloried, just that catechist is not the job for her.
 
Even I voted no. Just as you Catholics have no buisness telling us Non-Catholics who we may or may not permit to marry in our faihs, WE have no buisness telling you who to ordain in yours.
 
This woman was fired, not banned. When the headline says banned, it suggests that this is a matter of censorship. The Catholic Church has the right to maintain its own beliefs within the Catholic Church, and removing someone who wages war on its own beliefs.
 
Why are they asking whether the Catholic Church **should **ordain women priests???

If we agree that these things should happen, will they?

Can they?

Is there any point to asking these questions?
 
Nun preaches against Catholic doctrine. Bishop says ‘quit that!’
