Plagues Or Loss of Life? Gotta know....Help

Hi Reuben J, I have always enjoy dicussing beliefs with you, you are very respectfull. I agree the gifts of the Holy Spirit are to Glorify God first, then the Body of Jesus Christ. I do have a hard time understanding, that this free gift is fround upon in many churches.
Some Catholic priest and protestant ministers have a real problem with the gifts. I have known ministers that get persecuted for using them. I have seen Fr.Cedric on the Church Channel talk positive about them. Can you tell me why this broad discrepancy exist depending on who you talk too??? I believe if I’m not mistaken Charasmatics were big in the Catholic Church in the late 70’s, early 80’s. If this is true, why did it die down, becaue I don’t hear about it any more???

I think this may deviate from the topic of the thread. I rather not talked about Charismatic phenomenon here. In the Catholic community it is still controversial since it would be more often than not being associated with the Protestant Pentecostal movements and Charismatic Churches. In reality that is not so but we Catholics are quite conservative at times. This does not help when many people think that the charismatic gifts ended with the apostles or the early Christians to start the Church going but not now since we are already a full blown Church we don’t need the gifts anymore.

But from experience wise, it is difficult to deny that the action of the Holy Spirit has changed lots of lives and if you experience the love of God, you would be unable to contain it but have to share it. The Holy Spirit works in such way that He renews and upbuilds our faith

Hi Martin, you may be right there, I was not there, I can only take his word on it. But as far as others being raised from the dead, I was there when my Dad was. Dr. Kay even admitted they had lost him and he was clinicaly dead. Jesus gave my Dad a new heart, he had this vision when he was dead. Years later my dad had another surgury and Dr Right said medical science did not have the technology to do what had been done. My Dad lived another 35 years. 1 Peter 1:24 says by His stripes we have been healed.Why are so many signs and wonders happening now with such an increase of Faith in a time the Churches are being pursecuted??? Especially in this world culture of death???

Im one of those skeptics on pastors of various denominations, because most followers leave them if they pass on or do not continue in that particular congregational community once the pastor dies.

But I am very happy and pleased to know about your dear father. Let’s pray he achieves his eternal reward.

Yes!!! Many people today have been clinically dead and raised by Faith through the Word and the Blood of Jesus. It is happening everyday, just turn on a faith channel. Pastor Andrew Wommack’s son was dead for 5 hours and in a mourge, before he arrived. He stood on the Word,Blood of Jesus, and Faith, his on was raised from the dead. This is totaly Scripture. Read Proverbs, out of our mouth comes life or death. Jesus left us the Holy Spirit and the power to raise the dead, cast out demons, and faith to move the mountains in our life.Why are people so surprise to hear these miracles happening every day when you have Faith,stand on God’s Word,and plead the Blood of Jesus???My shattered,twisted foot was healed not by Doctors,but standing on the Word and pleading the Blood of Jesus. We all have Christ power, when he dewells in us and stand fast on God’s promises.

Coptic, like I said in previous post, I was not here when Andrews son died.I only have his word on it. As far as death certificates, Lazireth and many others raised by Apostles didn’t have one or we would have them in archives. I do not follow a single Pastor, I follow Jesus Christ and his Word, through revelation of the Holy Spirit in my spirit. My experence tells me that the works of the Apostles did not end in the Early Church. They are still going on today. I have seen miracles first hand in my life through Jesus Name, and his precious Blood. The power and gifts of the Spirit is real.This is why I have no problem in the Catholic belief in the Eucharist. Actually I find it beautiful. Personaly, I put no trust in any man. I test everything according to the Word . Your Faith is yours, I wouldn’t want to change it. That is what the Holy Spirit ha shown you. For me, I do not need to see a death certificate to know some one is raised from the dead. I do not have time to share how many miracles have been in my life. How many accedents and near death experences I have been in, all documented. I know I am here through the Blood of Jesus Christ from the Cross and Jesus name. I stand on that Faith every day in God’s Word. Like Paul said I 'm running the good race. Jesus Christ ha always taken care of me. I depend on him, he supplies ally needs. There is so much power in the Holy Spirit to enhance the Body of Jesus Christ and give all Glory to God. I do not undertand the Father fully,I won’t till I get to Heaven. I do know I’m the annointed of Jesus and there is so much Power in His Blood. I life Faith to Faith and Grace to Grace.

Hi Reuben, you are right we have devated from topic. But the gifts of the Holy Spirit is one of my hang ups with RCR. I get so confussed when I
have talk to different Catholics on issue. The Apostles had it, but what I gather Catholic no longer need it to enchance the Body??? Sorry for going here, I just don’t get it. Penticost was real.This is not a Penticostal thing it is a Holy Spirit thing. Many churches have the gifts. I just don’t get why it is no longer needed, when the world is a society of death? It would seem to me we need it now more than ever to further the Body of Christ.
