I’m doing some work readiness workshop, and Planned Parenthood (for some reason) is going to make a presentation to me and about 7 other teens.

My face went from a smile, to just… Anger. I just went cold. I don’t want to hear their ****. I told the workshop advisor I was strictly pro life, he allowed me to step out, or just sit and tune out.
:banghead::crying:

I have to resist the urge to tell them anything. I hope they don’t show.

Thinking about all the babies that have been aborted is fueling anger.

Please pray for me and others here

PS. The bleeped out word is not even a curse word,

Why not stay and ask them some pointed questions?

Many of their employees truly believe they are helping women. Have you read Abby Johnson’s book, “Unplanned?” It tells her own story, of a gradual awakening to what Planned Parenthood is really all about (abortions), rather than helping women.

If you can question them with charity (not an easy task) you might open their eyes, and the others in the room.

Praying for you in any case.

I’d be interested to hear about what they said because I’m wondering what kind of “work readiness” has Planned Parenthood in. I mean, how does it relate?

They will slant it toward health care for women, and contraception.

Before America went socialist, we had work, not “work readiness workshops.” We had parenthood, not “Planned Parenthood.”

Im a hot head at times, cant do it.

Ill doodle, pray for them

What kind of school is this?

Exactly. This is an opportunity for OP to ask questions about their practice, about the scandals that their organisation has been involved in as revealed by Live Action and yes Abby Johnson

Juliane, they provide heath care for women and contraception, that’s well-known and hardly a slant. But why are they at this kind of workshop and what does it have to do with preparing for work? That’s what I don’t understand.

This won’t be the last time you deal with this. So you are a bit hot headed? Maybe it would be a good time to learn how to use your temperament in a helpful way. Does anything awful happen if you go a bit overboard in your attempt to engage them?

They just came in and started talking. I had to excuse myself out.

Its horrible. They are talking about names for body parts! Silly name for privates!! This is ridiculiue, I felt violated of my privacy. Im outside crying. I dont want to go back in.

I feel horrible although some lurking may think im being a drama queen. I just felt violated, no privacy, different name for penis and va*? REALLY. its like having a stick shoved in my ears.

Dear lord give me strength.

If I cause any trouble it will affect me. I dont need to know how to take a condom off, I AM A LADY. I saw that in the booklet. I feel like tossing it at them.

Planned Parenthood will most likely tell the teen girls that if they get pregnant and decide not to get an abortion that they will forever destroy any chance of having a career and any chance of ever having a happy life. Planned Parenthood is ok with teen girls having promiscuous sex and getting pregnant as long as she gets the abortion after.

I read up on them, and I’m not sure that’s the case. The source I used was very, very bias, I’ll admit, but I’m pretty sure their main goal is to prevent unwanted pregnancies than simply pushing abortion. Not that I know much about them, living in the UK and only having read a tiny amount of information about them.

Is this some kind of sex education thingy? It sounds like they’re trying to educate people about safe sex from what you’ve described and their website.

There’s no such thing as “safe sex” when we are talking about “casual” promiscuous sex among teens. Telling a kid to have “safe sex” while using a condom will translate to the teen using a condom for the first few minutes or for the first time before deciding that it’s alright to go without it since using a condom is like putting a piece of candy in your mouth with the wrapper still on. The teen who is having sex is having it because they don’t have self control.

I don’t think so somehow. I know many people who managed to practice some degree of promiscuity and still keep a condom on. Anyone with any amount of common sense would. Your claim that all or even most people who fornicate with a condom then proceed to practise rampant unprotected sex is demonstrably false. The OP is also hardly a teen anymore, anyway. They’re 18. They’re practically an adult.

There is not one chance in 100 billion that Planned Parenthood would ever say anything like that to any woman, of any age, in any place, at any time. No one “okay with girls having promiscuous sex” and no one in Planned Parenthood wants to ever have to provide another abortion to anyone.

If you personally knew these people the way I do instead of just deciding all the buildings are full of demons, you wouldn’t be slandering some pretty great people doing pretty great work, who also provide abortions to those who ask, as per the law in this country.

I’m sick to death of the ugly lies and distortions around here. No one in this non-profit is making money from abortions, a procedure that just takes a great deal of time away from other services they also provide and that need to be provided in greater amounts.

If you knew the abysmal level of ignorance about sexuality and reproduction that is the state of most adolescents in this country, you’d know they could spend five times as much time in education and still not fill the ignorance gap.

“One important finding, he said, showed that the frontal cortex area—which governs judgment, decision-making and impulse control—doesn’t fully mature until around age 25”

If they are so confident that providing condoms will prevent abortions why don’t they show how much confidence they have in this by shutting down their abortion services?

No Catholic can support any organization which performs or enables abortions- period.

Yeah, I don’t really care what sources you can throw at me. I have it on good judgement and evidence that people in their late teens can be just as good at making decisions as those in their later years, and sometimes even better. It doesn’t really matter when the brain fully matures. That doesn’t in anyway prove that teens who use condoms are going to get sudden urges to rip off the rubber and spread chlamydia because they’re too stupid to recognise the importance of safe sex. How stupid do you think they are? That’s like claiming we shouldn’t let teens drive because they’ll suddenly decide to run people over after the thrill of driving normally wears out. Both claims are absurd and are demonstrably false.

I mean, there are arguments against contraception that are quite good. Sadly, this isn’t one of them.
