Thank you for clarity and sanity.
There are better places to get health care, and for a Catholic, contraception is mortal sin.

Julia Mae is our resident Planned Parenthood defender/apologist. She’s never said, as far as I know, but I think she works for them.

That is YOUR opinion. You do not get to make that choice for other women. Most Catholic women of childbearing age use some form of ABC, despite Church teachings.

Actually, it’s the clear teaching of the Church. If a woman wants to go to Heaven and be with Jesus, she should not be using contraception. (Nor should she be having sex at all during her fertile season if she is not open to the new life of a baby in her womb, whatever the reason may be.)

Catholic Church says using contraception is a mortal sin. Church teaching is truth and if people dissobey that teaching then that is on their conscience that they will face God with

Heaven is not a democracy - the fact that “most” women (or anybody) do something is not actually an endorsement of the behaviour - it just means that a lot of people commit sin.

“I don’t defend slavery. I only defend the right of rich people to own poor people, if they so choose.”

“I don’t support mysogyny. If a man wants to beat up his wife, it is his own business.”

Is there any difference, here? 🤷
As Cardinal Arinze paraphrases it (and I’m paraphrasing him), it’s as if one were speaking to a member of Congress and said “personally, I’m not in favor of shooting the whole lot of you, but if someone else wants to do it well, that’s just their choice.”
You can see the amazing Cardinal Arinze here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYdMHsq2AuE

The cardinal also addresses those who support pro-“choice.” I place “choice” in parentheses because as Cardinal Arinze points out, there really is no “choice” for Catholics on this issue. I will add that there is no choice for Catholic Christians but to oppose Planned Parenthood vigorously and resolutely as long as this organization continues to sponsor abortions!

Instead of promoting chastity and self value, these people promote sex like its nothing.

My generation needs to be taught that they need to respect themselves, an not free for all sex.

Thats why so many kids are confused and fall into having sex with people they will not even marry, and end up broken and depressed for giving their virginty to someone who is not worth it.

Adults should be educating these kids to wait, but now I see why it’s not like that.

I mean, ‘rights’ for everyone except for developing children, right?
That TOTALLY makes sense.

“I’m not in favor of hitting children, but, It’s their parents choice and I can’t shove my beliefs down their throat”

Makes sense.

Catholics for Choice = Vegans for Meat
makes sense.

Your head and heart are in the right place, Maria1993- you go girl!

Yes. Both examples you give are illegal.

If you have never used contraception, then maybe you will get to heaven. But I wouldn’t hold out much hope of seeing your fellow Catholics there. Almost every Catholic woman of child bearing age has used contraception at least once.

Everyone seems to think it’s a good idea. Certainly cuts down on abortions. Which I’m sure you’d support.
Adults should be educating these kids…
That’s what parents are for. Hopefully yours have taught you what they believe is the correct way to live your life. But unfortunately, things don’t always go to plan.

My wife and I taught our kids to respect themselves and others. We suggested to them that having sex with no thought for the consequences was not a good idea. We made sure they knew about contraception so if it happened that they did have sex they wouldn’t ruin two, possible three lives.

It seems to have worked. I strongly recommend it to others.

They haven’t always been. Within my own lifetime, mysogyny was not only legal, it was expected - just the way things were.

I expect that as more and more abortion survivors reach voting age, abortion will also become less accepted, and ultimately illegal, as well.

If she confessed and repented, then I’ll see her in Heaven. But I’m not going to Heaven for the popularity contest - I’m going because that’s where Jesus and Mary are. 🙂

Misogyny is not illegal. Beating your wife has always been illegal. I support the right of women not to get beaten.

Abortion survivors? Do you know many people who have survived an abortion?

I know two - and I know of a great many.

Of course, technically, everyone born in America after 1973 is an abortion survivor, since their mothers could have freely chosen to abort them at any time during the pregnancy, if she had felt like it.

I know 2 people (who are completely normal, talented, smart) who’s mothers were told to abort them. Due to illness, and if I remember correctly, drug use.

The doctor told them they would have heart problems, and other health problems.

Years later, and they are perfectly fine. Not one problem. None. Healthy people.

Their mothers are brave women. God bless them for that.

Nurse who saw failed abortion babies LEFT IN A ROOM TO DIE.

How the hades is this sane? Right? Moral? LEGAL?

Left to die, not dead, but left to die. Babies with formed bodies, like the ones you can cradle, left to die.

You can make all the arguments necessary to protect this barbaric act. It still does not make it right. I can’t wrap my thought around how anyone can think this is right. :nope:

**Jill Stanek, a former nurse in Chicago turned pro-life blogger, has described witnessing babies being born alive after failed abortions, then being brought to a “soiled utility room” and left to die. Her testimony sparked the state’s Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

“My experience was that they [the babies] survive as short as a few minutes, to once, almost as long as an eight hour shift,” she said in 2008.

In one instance, she said she heard that a child was being left, and she “couldn’t bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone.” “And so I cradled and rocked him for the forty-five minutes that he lived.”
