From the headline I thought it meant the companies are going to stop sponsoring. Turns out it’s more Interesting than that:
Someone is lying and I’m going to say it’s not Coca-Cola because if they did in fact contribute there would be a record of it. As it stands, planned parenthood hasn’t defended the use of Coke’s name in the list of sponsors, they quietly removed it.
ETA: This makes me happy and a little less guilty since I drink a lot of Coke.
Yes, it makes me happy, too…I love my Coke!
Planned Parenthood insinuated on their website that Coke, Ford, and other companies were donors. When, in fact, they were not.
PP is quite deceptive ! After Coke, Ford, and Xerox asked to have their names
removed from the website, PP removed the names of ALL the “donors”.
I posted this on another thread, but in case you didn’t see it, this will brighten your day.
"I work for The Coca-Cola Company’s Public Affairs and Communications team and wanted to clarify something Mr. Erickson discussed regarding our company and Planned Parenthood.
We do not contribute to Planned Parenthood, and employee gifts to Planned Parenthood are not matched.
Just want to clarify, we did not change our policy – in fact, we have never matched employee gifts to Planned Parenthood. We were not listed as a corporate sponsor on Planned Parenthood’s website – we were listed among companies that match employee gifts. The implication was that gifts to them would be matched. This is why we asked them to correct their site.

And this is what the PP site looked like before it completely removed their list of “donors” on Thursday:
