I absolutely can’t stand Mitch McConnell, but I do have to be fair here. He voted against defunding them as a procedural move. If he votes against it, he can then bring it up again later for another vote. If he had voted in favor of it, Senate rules would have prevented him from bringing it up again for another vote.So, much is cronyism, the head of Planned Parenthood, seems to be the daughter of Ann Richards, Senator Mitch McConnel of Kentucky, Majority Leader, voted against Defunding Planned Parenthood, PP is a very big lobby and special interest groups.
So holding this particular vote against him is unwarranted in this instance alone. He certainly has fault for refusing to add the defunding bill as an amendment to the Highway Bill (which would have been much harder for the Democrats and Obama to vote against or veto).
