Anybody see O’Reilly last night…Thursday April 16?

He made the comment that he thought it was okay for Obama to deliver the commencement speach at Notre Dame. He never mentioned the honorary degree. This man who calls himself Catholic needs all of us to flood him with e-mails. If he wants to call himself Catholic he needs to know what he is condoning.

I’m increasingly of the opinion that these people be left to their fate. Catholics such as O’Reilly are exposed to all kinds of learned Catholics, bishops, prominent clergy, etc.
Politicians like Nancy Pelosi get personal, private audiences with the pope. They get countless e-mails trying to awaken their souls, and they’re just obstinate, egotistical mouthpieces who’ve chosen mammon over God…

Inviting the most pro-death President ever to speak at a “Catholic” University is clearly wrong. Honoring him is unacceptable and a participation in a grave evil!

Unfortunately, so many Catholics feel like they can change things if they just do it their way. So often they fall for the “greater good” argument.

O’Reilly must feel like his popularity and his own judgment is better than that of the Church.

I think so many people see the sinners in the Church and mistake that for the opportunity to question and denigrate the Institution Jesus set up to carry on His teaching, the Catholic Church. They want to be liked, to be popular, to be seen as a moderate and fair minded.

O’Reilly has a platform to preach the love of Jesus Christ in it’s full Glory, let’s pray that he will soon begin to do that, even if it means he loses popularity with the secular crowd!

It’s sad when one of our best defenders of the Faith in the media is on the Comedy Channel, Stephen Colbert!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Is there a transcript anywhere online, or a video of the segment?

Bill O’Reilly has been supportive of the pro-life movement, his approval of honoring the President sounds irregular.

What you can’t see is that the extremism on this site has become such that you guys are tearing apart your own allies for not being extreme enough.

Go to Bill O’Reilly’s homepage on Fox News. On the left there are many categories. Choose “Reality Check”
Watch reality check starting about 4:49. He calls it point 6. On Point 6 he says he celebrated his last 100 days of being number 1 on cable TV by visiting Harry Smith of CBS Early Show. He then shows a clip of that show where he comments on Obama going to Notre Dame…“He’s the President. He should go.”

Update:
I just went to the O’Reilly Factor homepage on Foxnews.com and noticed the reality check has been updated. Now, to see the one mentioned above you will need to make sure you press the reality check video with the picture of a masked superhero. The caption is "Burger King pulls offensive Mexican ad. That is the correct reality check to watch. Start at 4:41

I just sent the following. Boy, it’s hard to keep it short…

Bill,
Notre Dame was wrong to invite Obama to speak at the upcoming commencement, and Fr. Jenkins remains obstinate in his error. Yes, Jesus ate with sinners, but for the purpose of correction and admonishment and with a view to bring them to repentance. Clearly, in the instance of delivering a commencement speech, only one person is talking, and that would be Obama. So when and where would the correction come?.. especially since Fr. Jenkins has shut down any opportunity for dialogue even with the students regarding the university’s error in judgment.
Regards,

O’Reilly “is a Catholic *buuuuut” *in that superior voice he has… he doesn’t agree with the Church on artificial birth control and a few other issues. I can’t stand listening to the man so I have not heard him very often, but I have heard him say that.

O’Reilly is the most zealous pro-life guy on tv. I didn’t see the segment, but I bet he gave a good reason for it…Roanoker

Honestly, I can’t stand O’Reilly. Or Sean Hannity for that matter. They, I believe, are Christian and Catholic the same way Biden and Kerry are-when it suits them. I applaud Bill O’Reilly for being pro-life. I just feel that he is too pious and judgemental of anyone who doesn’t see his way. But then again, aren’t all talking heads that way?

Being judgmental is not necessarily bad, and certainly not always wrong. When O’Reilly condemns the judges and the courts of Vermont for refusing to pass Jessica’s Law, or condemns Vermont for the recent decision to ‘protect’ the rights of kids as young as 13 to send pictures of themselves nude via ‘sexting’, challenges Vermont when they sentence child sex offenders with light or no penalties and post names and pictures of the judges who do this, etc., I’d say O’Reilly’s judgment is right on. Remember, the Church does NOT condemn discrimination, but only UNJUST discrimination. We are obliged to JUDGE right from wrong.

I cannot judge the heart of Fr. Jenkins, but I can certainly judge his actions, and they certainly resemble those of Pilate in the way appeasement, and those of Judas in the way of betrayal. So, there you go…

Irenaeus, thank you. You understood where I was coming from. We need to “educate” the people who claim to be Catholic. We are not condeming him for his ignorance but hoping he would take time to understand why Catholics are opposed to Obama accepting an honorary degree from “Our Lady’s” university.
O’Reilly sounded like he did not put much thought into his response to Harry Smith. He simply said because Obama is President he should deliver the address. He needs to be reminded that accepting an honorary degree from one of the most famous “Catholic” universities in America sends a message that we Catholics (along with Our Lady) think he is deserving of such an honor.
I hope more of you will send him a message why Catholics should not give this honor to Obama. If you make your e-mail short and pithy he may broadcast it on his show. If you want him to read it you will need to give your name and town.

Doesn’t it make a bit more sense to support someone who might agree with you 60-70% of the time (like Hannitty, O’Reilly) then someone who you agree with 10% of the time? (Pelosi)

Would you rather Hannitty and O’Reilly crusade for atheism and the culture of death?

I watch O’Reilly daily and occasionally Hannity through the Fox news website. I don’t know to what extent O’Reilly is pro life as he doesn’t have a problem with Obama at Notre Dame. However, I know that there isn’t a media source that is truly bias free and I would consider Fox news to be more willing to show the real news rather than what you would get at CNN or MSNBC.

Nancy Pelosi, I can’t trust at all. In some ways she annoys me more than Obama. Perhaps because she claims to be Catholic.

Firstly, I am not sure Bill listens to anybody but himself.

Secondly, I totally agree. I once saw him debate with an atheist in FAVOR of relativism. I think he is more interested in the appearance of being conservative and religious.

Thirdly, I think Hannity is worse.

You guys are incredible… 🤷

I watch O’Reilly and Hannity regularly, almost daily. The is a difference between honoring the man, and respecting the office. O’Reilly, Beck, and Hannity have said they object to the honorary degree, but not the invitation itself. Obama was just at Georgetown, and he said nothing of animosity towards the Catholic Church, however, his covering up of the school’s identity is a sign by itself.

As some of you know, I am a veteran. In this country, we pay our respects to those appointed over us, even if it is against our consent (no, I didn’t vote for him, I voted for the other guy). When I was active, I had no right to not salute my superiors if I disagreed with them personally. Now I can refuse, but to do so is to also refuse to acknowledge everything else that involves the President of the United States.

We need to respect the office, while at the same time telling the person we will fight some of their plans. If we don’t, then we become just like the liberals who refused to recognize anything that Bush did right. In their eyes, everything he did was wrong, no matter what. Inviting the President to speak is not a crime given the fact that every President in recent history has been invited to speak there. This is what O’Reilly and others pointed out on their shows. This is not unorthodox, anti-Catholic, selective morality, or sinful. Also, none of you have mentioned that they did oppose giving him the honorary degree. Pay closer attention, and maybe you’ll have something legitimate to complain about other than “talking heads”.

And yes, they are all very pro-life, pro-marriage, anti-contraception, and pro-parental rights and have no problem saying it on their shows.

Yes, let’s alienate even those who are pro-life and try to be on our side.

I agree wtih O’Reily. Why? Because he is the president, and he was invited. You can’t just dis-invite the bloody president! Do I think Notre Dame should have done this? No, and I did sign a petition.
I DO, however, think they should NOT be given him an honorary degree.

I am an O’Reilly fan. As well as Hannity and Beck. So 🤷 to each their own I suppose

Amber, I want to tell you something important, because I do not think you are aware of it. When you use the word bloody in the way that you have done above, you are blaspheming against the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, poured out for love of humanity. It is a sin, just like any other form of using God’s Name in vain.
It hurts His Heart.
I know you should be made aware of it. Welcome to the Catholic Faith since your conception…but especially since 2005!
May Christ Jesus bless you and your intentions,
Cherie

I watch the O’Reilly Factor. I heard Bill say that he didn’t think that an honorary degree should be given to the president, although he didn’t think that the president should not attend.
