Please, if I may ask… it it okay to watch the anime Dragonball, and its sequel-series? From this website… johnthewitness.wordpress.com/…dragon-ball-z/ it depicts the show being satanic, which I, honestly, had never thought any of these things when I originally watched the show years ago, nor did I even come to a conclusion.
Also, there are websites or videos on YouTube (which are often ones that lead to conspiracy theory videos…) that talk about the names of the different characters “Piccolo, Kami,” etcetera, being the names of demons or satanic in nature, and having subliminal messages about conspiracies. themacchoi.blogspot.com/2012/…ndertones.html And the attack moves being satanic, or something like that. (In an interview, the creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, said that he’d asked his wife for ideas and she actually came up with it by just doing a little pose. He’d liked it and decided to use it in the series) That’s the last link I’ll post by the way… Here’s the thing, I don’t let such conspiracies control my fear, and I’m pretty darn sure that the creator of the series hadn’t inserted such imagery… and that it was probably some dumb animators’ insertions… but it just stumps me.
They also mention it being not actually animated by a company called Toei but IN FACT being animated by a company called “Milk” in Asia that practices worship of the evil one. Me, personally, I found that a bit hard to believe… especially acknowledging Asia’s understanding of Christianity and all aspects involved of mankind and its salvation and the one who attempts to hold us from reaching such… but yeah. To have the “milk” thing talked about when referencing the anime and NOT the manga (if I remember right) confused me.
Also, the creator of the series was once (actually still might be (is registered as one on a Jehovah website)) said to be a Jehovah Witness… sooo yeah. The thing is, the series does have good morals… and that’s what I loved about it, as well as the characters. The main character fights through love and mercy and hates killing (there isn’t an ounce of evil in him throughout the series, he was essentially the “Christ-character” of the series. He even tried to get the most evil of characters in the show to apologize for all he’d done… and dies for the earth one time in the show because one of the bad guys was about to explode and he transported him to another planet and was caught in the explosion there. He also turns one of the most prideful characters into a more loving one, a father. The show definitely does not push immoral traits… but I don’t know, I’m just conflicted about the whole show. There’s a character Mr. Satan that has a daughter “Videl (rearrange the letters…)”, and he has a car with the numbers 666 on it (although apparently that was just a small insert in between half-time of the show, and was said that it might NOT have been drawn by the creator of the show… but I don’t know, and they say his name is actually stage name for him and that that’s just one of Japan’s “(unfortunate) parody’s” of the truths spoken of in Christianity, and that his real name is actually Mark. In one scene at the end of the series, Mr. Satan actually helps the main characters save the universe by defeating a purple monster that likes candy but is the most destructive being in that universe and the people of Earth were chanting “Mr. Satan”… naturally, that made me uncomfortable (which is why I always enjoyed the edited version…), but I also acknowledged that it was simply fiction and that Christianity often isn’t present in tv shows (especially ones from Asia)… but yeah.
They also have these things called “Dragon Balls” hence the title… that, if gathered together (there are 7) would summon a giant dragon called Shenron that would grant three wishes. Also, in the sequel series to Dragon Ball Z, there are seven “black star” dragon balls (evil ones that never showed up in the series before) that took form of practically the 7 deadly sins! (Which I found to be a symbol… especially with how good the good guy is, and how he sacrifices himself)
Honestly, remembering all that I do about the show and all the good things presented throughout it, I am just so conflicted about it. I LOVED the music from it, and the story… the characters, just everything. I did love it. There are so many good themes presented throughout, and it’s a show that was beloved to me when I was little (also, I watched the “edited” version where “Mr. Satan” was renamed Hercule). I just want to know if it’s okay to watch it. Would I unknowingly go to Hell for watching it? The thing is, I’m solid in my faith, I really am… so I’m just very confused on this issue. I do hope some people who have actually seen the show can answer this.
See, it’s just one of those “I want to be absolutely sure” situations. In reality, the positives ALWAYS outweigh the negatives… thus one could come to such a conclusion about the show, especially when it comes to a character like the main character, Goku… however, could it wreak havoc on the soul? Could it damn a person? Again, I am very strong in my faith and I know this is fiction, it could not hurt me faith in any way, truthfuly, but yes, please answer this question–if you will. I apologize for the long post.
