Pray the rosary for power to over come your problems you are facing these days :(:(. I’m think of you and your mom in my prayer and in my rosary. Trust in the Lord and his Blessed mother and you shall not fear anything and your mom also shall not fear death :o.

Amen: thumbsup:

Lord, in Your mercy, grant that Stlucy’s mum has a crucifix to grasp with all faith in her last days. May the comfort that comes from pondering Christ’s death provide her with great joy and a lessening of all anxiety. Bring her heart to repentance and contrition. Graciously accept her plea of forgiveness and remember the place You have prepared for her from all time. You are a Lord of mercy and we place our very existence in Your hands. Your Son is called the Prince of peace. Grant that His peace is extended to all of his family, and that anger will subside as Mum’s eternity arrives. Jesus told us “Peace I leave you. My peace I give you”. Let those few words of grace provide great peace and comfort for those who are sorrowing. We ask this through the same Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!
I want to thank you all for your prayers. Mum is sleeping most of the time now. I want to clarify that she didn’t refuse the Crucifix because she doesn’t believe or needs to be forgiven for anything. She has always been a faithful daughter of the Church and has been anointed. She just wasn’t ready to go and she associated being given the Crucifix and her rosary as signs that the end was near.

When the end will come I can’t be the judge. But I will let her know that she is being surrounded by love and prayers from people all over the world. I am sure your prayers are bringing her peace because she is quiet now.

Please continue to pray for me that I have the strength, patience and wisdom to see this through to the end. My brother will not believe she is in pain because she said she wasn’t although I have many witnesses, including a doctor who saw it for himself.

Hi all Thnks for all your prayers and kind words.

I just want to ask your opinion. Yesterday I was so tired and Mum was rambling on and on. I phoned by brother and asked if he could come and sit with her for an hour so that I could have a rest. He replied that he was watching the rugby on TV. He just said to leave her alone. He’s got it into his head that she’s got dementia when the doctors have told us that this is not the case. I am feeling very bitter towards him for neglecting her like this. Am I wrong for caring about my mother so much?

We each answer for our own sins, not those of others. The Lord sees your love and dedication to your mother, and He will reward you for it. As you spend time with her, offer prayer for the hardened heart of your brother. Hard as that may be to so, it will help the both of you.

May Christ’s peace be with all of you.

Thank you for your prayers.

I have decided that she needs to be seen by the opthalmic surgeon. Although it was said that we didn’t want her to be put through the biopsy, I feel it is my duty and we all need to know where to go on this issue. I can’t just keep giving her strong painkillers for an invisible ailment. Mum is now complaining of pain in her head but, as she is so confused, it is difficult to follow what she’s saying. We have an appointment for next Thursday.

Keep praying if you will.

Pax et bonum. Peace and all good.

Lord Jesus we kniw your daghter will be rewarded in heaven for her service to her parents but she needs some worldly help, support and comfort. Send her the holy spirit to lead her to friends , good strong friends who will help her throgh this time will help her with her mother and replace the brother who has abandoned his mother and family. Lord send comfort to your daughter, peace and joy for the long life and time together she has had with her mother, please provide these things to her in addition to her rewards in heaven, in your name I pray, amen

I wanted to give all of you who have prayed for me an update on how things are here. God answers prayers in such strange ways and I know I have to go along with His way.

As you know, my mother has a mass behind her eye. This was detected by an MRI and a CT scan. She had a routine appointment for this but ended up in hospital and it was done during this time. She was there for a month because there was norovirus on the ward and she was not allowed to leave until the ward was clear. However, I was told little else about her condition.

She came home and I struggled on with her. It was during this time that I first asked you for prayers. If you scroll back you will see how hard this situation is.

Anyway, she worsened and I called the equivalent of 911 and got her admitted to hospital again. This time she went another hospital. Within 12 hours I was given the diagnosis of dementia. Her scans had shown an atrophy of the brain and signs of small strokes which were never treated. The original hospital that had taken the scans had told me nothing of this.

Of course, in hindsight it all makes sense and I can see the history of her deterioration but we have been terribly neglected by the medical profession. In the USA this would be justification for a huge lawsuit but here in the UK you just get on with it. I don’t have the energy anyway.

To cut a long story short, I have decided to let go. She needs 24 hours nursing care and it is not possible here at home. I have to find her a suitable nursing home and I am terrified about how I am going to manage to keep the house going without my mother’s benefits coming in. Neither of us have money of our own and the rent etc was paid by the government. I received a very small amount for caring for her and now she is going to a nursing home, I don’t know how I stand.

All this has taken its toll on me and I have been to see my doctor. I have to have tests done and am not fit for work. As I have been a carer for about 15 years and am over 50, it seems unlikely, in this economic climate, that I will even find a job.

I have not been able to visit her because of my health but I have called the hospital every day. I phoned the hospital yesterday and could hear her shouting out. She had been reasonably quiet but one of my brother’s rare visits had upset her.

I haven’t been able to sleep and so I got up early and decided to write to you and ask for your further prayers. I am waiting now for the Social Security office to open so that I can demand some help for me. My social worker retired recently and I have no one assigned to my case. It is urgent.

Please keep praying.

Holding you, your mum, brother, family members, friends, and so forth in my Prayers.

A Prayer for Guidance
Lord Jesus, may everything I do begin with You,
continue with Your help,
and be done under Your guidance.
May my sharing in the Mass free me from my sins,
and make me worthy of Your healing.
May I grow in Your Love and Your service,
and become a pleasing offering to You;
and with You to Your Father.
May the mystery I celebrate help me
to reach eternal life with you. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we come before You, asking that You look with extreme compassion upon SaintLucy, her mother and her brother. Grant that they are all cared for in a loving manner, and that divisions within the family will be dissolved. May faith and trust in You maintain them all as Your love is revealed to them. Graciously allow that Your Son’s words “Do not worry” will take root in SaintLucy’s spirit. May she take great comfort in the Eucharist and in Sacred Scripture. Father, grant them all healing as required to conform to Your Divine Will. Graciously provide support for SaintLucy and remove her anxiety through Your trustworthy promises. Grant this, we beseech You, through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
