Sweet Friend,
Heart breaking news indeed. Hurts me to know this. I will pray for you with my heart.
I also feel that if Doctors say she is just breathing on life support and no chance of recovery, the alternative would be to let her go to God. The Most High who would welcome His child home. As you say, she is not in any pain which is a relief to you. Yet, I can imagine how hard it is to let go and expect the miracle that you pray for.
Plus, on the other hand the miracle and the true one would be going to Heaven and to God who is our true Parent and “Power of Attorney” per se. If she is brain dead and I’m truly sorry if this hurts you, (hurts me to write), then think about God already having His child “home”. And if you make the decision to end life support and she passes away, then you would know God’s decision. No matter how many masses, prayers, chaplets etc, we pray. God is the ultimate decision maker and decides our fate.
I would assume that you’ve already to talk to a Priest. And he probably has given you great advice.
I had a thought of if you kept your Mom on life support, what kind of quality life would your Mom have? She couldn’t hug you, talk to you or do the things that a healthy person does. I’m probably sure your Mom would not want that and want you to suffer.
If you do decide to take her off then keep going to Counseling to help your grief and sorrow. Would be better to start you on the journey to heal than keep on stressing about this decision no matter how hard it is.
Plus, you can still talk to your Mom in Heaven. She is still there with you and will never leave you even though it’s only in spirit. And will be able to intervene on your behalf when you are troubled and go through trials.
I talk to my family who have passed on, even though they weren’t on life support, it still hurts when a beloved dies.
I pray God gives you the comfort and wisdom to know to what to do and remember God will be there for you and He’s even closer now.
I’m so sorry and my heart hugs yours.
Love,
Sheila
**Prayer “Every day I Need You Lord…”
Every day I need You Lord
But this day especially,
I need some extra strength
To face what ever is to be.
This day more than any day
I need to feel You near,
To fortify my courage
And to overcome my fear.
By myself, I cannot meet
The challenge of the hour,
There are times when humans help,
But we need a higher power.
to assist us bear what must be borne,
and do dear Lord, I pray-
Hold on to my trembling hand
And be near me today.
Amen.
