And you thought you had a lot to deal with with grandfather!

I’m not sure where FurtherSuntime is coming from - I believe he may be overreacting - but i’m not sure why. I’ve looked over his other posts and he seems to be a very reasonable poster. I’ve looked over your threads - and you seem to be a level-headed young man. So something must be seen differently than my eyes and brain can perceive.

But back to you, IronMan. Thanks for your replies. At 20, you are still a young man. Who knows how you and your girlfriend may change over the next few years? Most teenage romances don’t survive the test of time - but some do.

And for you to go back and forth - not exactly sure what your future holds - i’d be more concerned if you didn’t feel that way at this age. But hold back on plans for marriage until you are certain. (But that was the other thread).

Happy Birthday

Since you are going to center me out, I will explain briefly :

because in reading the thread we are in…I noticed hes a control freak who will never say things like…
  1. Oh…thanks I never thought of that.
  2. This has been helpful and I see your point.
  3. Maybe I could improve on that.
Many many other signs which show a totally self obsessed individual which if I went through again I could make a list from here to the moon, as well a perpetual reference to excuseing himself with age for allowance in everything. Including this weird idea of god he has.

Therefore I went to one other of his threads just last oct, 2yrs after this one…and checked it out to get at what his problem is which is causing his strange interaction with the general public…( same guy

What I found was not surprising …

He upset his girlfriend to the point of crying and crying, telling her he was sick of her, was distracted by another girl…and at the same time thought he would go down to the church to find out if he was being called to the priesthood…how can you tell a person who youve pushed all this lovy dovy stuff on that he explains including the god idea that we are meant to be together…god is telling me …and then tell her, that hes sick of her…and thinks god is now telling him hes supposed to be a priest? followed by going down to the church and wasting the priests time? I already explained these things in the thread that your reading…why do I have to explain again?

He use’s conscience by talking about him and god with people because he is a control freak .

The premise he use’s, is that hes a full friend of god and everybody is supposed to think hes some kind of ideal person, including the girlfriend…its a form of manipulation…because if you reject in any way…the suggestion is your rejecting an individual doing there best in a relationship with god…thus indirectly rejecting his idea of god…and thus god himself.

…he can have revelations about what god is telling him anytime and introduce to the girlfriend…and thats how he operates and controls people

.like I said…what happens if like last oct…god tells him some other girl needs him more? NOW…did he answer that question?..WHY?

I have no confidence in the general publics ability to remark in some of these areas…spirituality is a good thing…but abuse of it…is what we know man does often in many ways. Its not a tool. This was very brief and will add…either people are going to play games coming here trying to add to peoples lives in their comments helping others with questions…by candy coating everything for their own ego…or they are going to get a issues and get at helping people rather then trying to puff themselves up with all kinds of nonsense and spiritual talk…instead of a few basic ABC’s in life, and our interaction with others

Look dude, I never told my girlfriend I was sick of her. I felt that way through my own self centered ness. I failed to realize what a great gal I had right in front of me. I was overcome by confusion. At that time I felt a strong longing to be a priest again. I was convinced that I should try out the seminary, that is what made my girlfriend cry, not me telling her I was sick of her. I cried just as much as she did because I thought it was over. I thought I’d be going to seminary. Eventually I prayed some more, gave it more thought, corrected my earlier mistakes and really began to truly love her again. That’s when everything fell back into its rightful place and here I am today. Crystal and I are very happy together.

You know I never told her that God is telling me this or that. How could I? If I really knew what God was telling me then none of this would have ever happened. I told her that this is how I feel, I didn’t tell her that God is telling me to do this because I couldn’t say that because I wasn’t sure.

You have really over analyzed and mistaken what I’ve said. I’m very offended and hurt that you would accuse me of such things, especially of intentionally harming my girlfriend, that is the part that really infuriates me.

You a right that I never really thanked anyone for their advice. When I revisited this thread a couple days ago I felt embarrassment for what I said. I really mean that. What they were telling was mostly true. I just didn’t want to listen. I wanted them to tell me what I wanted to hear. I’m human! Is that a crime!?

And I do apologize for getting so upset with you, but if you were being accused of things you didn’t do then you’d be just as upset as I am. Like I said, you are entitled to your opinion, but they are totally wrong. I would NEVER use God as a means of manipulating anybody! Especially not my girlfriend whom I do love! Perhaps it is you that needs the therapy to straighten you out, seeing things that do not exist. Your so called proof has holes all over it and you persist in them personal attacks on me. Besides, if I really am manipulating as you say I am then your original post would have sufficed. You said what you needed to say, you did your fraternal correction, you cleared your conscience. Ill answer to God for this Imaginary manipulation I’ve done so don’t even worry about it. Run along and go judge somebody else.

FurtherSuntime.

While it may be true that Ironman did not always accept advice he didn’t want to hear. And it may be true that he didn’t thank people for their sage advice. He may even have seemed like he had a direct link to the mind of God.

but…

He was 16! He was infatuated with a woman (girl). He didn’t want the old fogeys to tell him that he was too young. And 2 years later, he get a bit bored with it all. he wonders if there isn’t something better out there. Is this what he is supposed to be doing with his life. Wasn’t he made for something better?

i don’t take it that he was intentionally manipulating anybody. he was confused. But what 16 year old isn’t? I am more surprised that a 16 year old is still with the same person 2 years later.

I find that most 16 year olds want to reject God entirely. They don’t want yet someone else telling them what to do. here is a young man who wanted to embrace God.

If he were invoking God as a way to fool someone into thinking he was something or someone he is not - i might agree.

I believe that IronMan was (and is) legitimately searching for meaning in his life. He doesn’t entirely know what direction he is to go. (I have to ask you - FurtherSuntime - if you were able to get the girl of your dreams at age 16 - with everything that you wanted at that point in your life - Would that girl (now woman) still meet your desires?

With me, i think if i had made a list of the 20 top things that I wanted in a person at age 16. I would be fascinated (or embarrassed) now to read it and think how meaningful that “person of my dreams” would still be to me.

Thank you shainski. To add to that I must say that she doesnt mean the same she did to me back then. At this point in my life she means so much more. As these few years have passed I’ve learned to be with her on a much deeper level. Infatuation became love. While I don’t entirely know if she is the one God has intended for me, I’m 99% positive and hopeful that she is.
