I feel terrible. 2-3 weeks ago I posted a thread giving advice that I thought was beneficial. In an effort to correct my headstrong personality in marriage, I went from one extreme to an even a greater extreme on the other end in my marriage. I gave advice that basically said it is better to feel good in marriage and avoid pain than to endure any pain. Before long, I found myself committing sins of the flesh. Please pray that the bad advice I gave on the Catholic forums does not lead others away from God. Please pray for me also.

Thank you, God Bless you, and thank you for being a friend. I cannot tell you how much your support helps.

With Love, Lou F.

Lou, the magnificence of our God is beyond all human understanding. He is waiting, arms extended, to be reconciled with you. He graciously offered His Son, not even withholding Him from suffering on your behalf. Since your advice was false, it had the signs of error in it. It was recognizable as being in error and the Lord God will see that any damage done by or through it will be repaired when you do your penance. Do not persist in carrying the burden of this sin upon your conscience, as it will weaken you, making you susceptible to the attacks of the evil one. Confess this sin to your priest, who will take it from you, make it his own and offer it up to the Lord, who will destroy it. All that will be left of it is in your memory, graciously provided to you by God, so that you may avoid such sin the future. Christ’s peace be with you and forgive yourself as the Lord forgives you.

Dear Po18guy,

Thank you so much. I need to ask you something regarding the power of prayer and the power of sin. If I pray for world peace, God takes that prayer to aid in world peace. However, when I sin, does it have the same effect, only in a negative way? Does that sin become a vehicle to assist in the deterioration of the things I pray for? I feel like my sin erased at least some of the efforts and prayers for the intentions I worked and prayed so hard for. Does sin have that capability? Are we personally responsible for only the lives we touch, or are we personally responsible for the morality and immorality in our world today at a much larger scale? Is personal sin that strong where it is used like a prayer for evil, to assist the devil in other purposes?

Lou,
I will be praying for you also. Take it to confession and leave it there! All will be well then.

As for the above post, This would be better answered on the “apologetics” section of the forum.

God Bless you!
Pam

My prayers for you and for any who have been influenced negatively.

Praying for you, although it sounds like you are being awfully hard on yourself. God knows whether you meant well or not, and it doesn’t sound like you wanted someone to get hurt with the advice you give. Peace be with you, friend, only God, himself gives perfect advice. Maybe you could stop and pray before you say something in the future, just in case.

Please know your request for prayers have been added to my list of “Special Intentions” and the “Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary” recited daily!
God Bless You All!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for you Lou,
May you find peace of soul again. Sometimes when we think we have conquered a virtue, the Lord allows us to fall so that we can learn from it. We can only trust him and not in ourselves. So I suggest to get up and wipe off the dirt and let the Lord put on the bandaid.

Linda

I have placed your petitions within my heart and will carry them with me to Mass and I will remember your petitions in my daily prayers.

I will certainly keep your intentions in prayer.
You asked a few questions in another post in this thread and I agree that probably it would be best to ask in either the Apologetics or Spiritaulity Forums…Blessings - Barb:)
