My prayer for the families who have loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia–
Lord, give them the grace and strength they need.
I pray also for those with Alzheimer’s. May all Alzheimer’s patients be treated with dignity and respect. Amen.
 
We lift up our intentions for all your children suffering from Alzhelimers and dementia, and ask for your mercy and blessings for each of them, their care givers, and their family members. Lord, please help ensure all the care givers and family members who tend to people in this condition are strengthened for the challenge as they care for what is a shell of the person they know and love. Please help them to treat the afflicted persons with compassion and dignity during these times of great trial and challenge in their lives. We know you love each of us, and will not give anyone more that they can bear, so we ask you to continue to help all of us to share your love with these suffering persons in these most difficult times. Please help the family members to remain united and to respect the care givers who face the greatest challenge in these situations.

For Those Who Suffer with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

We turn to you, dear St. Dymphna, in the confident hope that you will remember our special intention in the Presence of the Lord our God. To your caring intercession, we entrust those who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, their families and friends, and all others who are seriously concerned about these disabling sicknesses so widespread in our time.

As patron of the nervous and emotionally disturbed, you are graciously channeling God’s healing power even to the seemingly hopeless cases. We believe that you will show the same compassion to persons afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Please pray with us that the medical teams involved in research may soon discover their cause and cure.

Dear St. Dymphna, now in Heaven with God where there is “…no more death, no more grief or crying or pain…” (*Rev *21:4), you are our sign and beacon of hope. Be our direct channel to Jesus, the Divine Physician, and Healer of the Sick. With you, His faithful follower, we give thanks for all those who will regain health and wholeness in body, mind, and spirit. Amen.
