Please pray for an addict facing withdrawals and detox

The work environment is really tough and a high risk situation for relapse because a lot of coworkers use so I’m asking for prayers about it. They’re also open to God right now, and I am trying my best to be Christ to them in my words and actions, so if you could pray that the Holy Spirit would guide me and give me the words to say to lead them to Christ.

That’s a great start, this person quitting to use since Saturday. My continued prayers for this person and yourself. May the Holy Spirit guide you in providing support and open their heart to Christ. You are a wonderfulf friend,

God,
Grant him the serenity to accept the things he cannot change, the courage to change the things that he can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

An addict has to get to a point where he has reached bottom and wants help. It is very hard for others to watch. Others may be able to bring the bottom to him by persuasion. If he doesn’t listen, release him in God’s hands. He will either seek help in a 12th step group, go insane, or die. There is no in between for addicts. Don’t stop praying for him. Let go and let God. Very hard to do.
 
Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.

Honestly, I’m giving this person bible passages to read and praying for him daily as well as offering him to Our Lord, Mary and praying to St. Maximilian Kolbe but I have great personal trepidation about how God can work in this person’s life. All of the people I’ve ever heard of who were addicted to opiates relapse and often never got better.

I will always pray for this person, but so much of my heart is afraid for them, I don’t know what to feel right now. I don’t understand how God could allow someone who has been through so much pain be exposed to drug using behaviors. I truly believe God can completely heal this person and lead them to recovery, but so much of this is beyond me. My heart hurts for them and their family. I don’t understand.

How can I pray for someone when my heart is broken for them? I am encouraging them and offering up prayers, as well as asking for prayer for them, but privately I am so sad and afraid for them.

I didn’t see this coming and I have known this person a long, long time.
 
I know people that have been clean from 1 year to over 40 years. It can and is being done. With no relapse involved at all. A lot of people don’t go around telling people about their old drug problem, But they will share about it in Narcotics Anonymous meetings to show new people with drug problems that it can be done. It is being done and how they did it and remain clean. You and your friend are n my prayers.

I just spoke to this person and found out they are 11 days sober and going strong, it hasn’t been easy but that’s the nature of the thing. I just wanted to let you know that your prayers are working and greatly appreciated.
