Lord, please heal all addicts and especially the person I’m praying for. Strengthen the family, friends and support systems of addicts so that they may offer the consistent love the addict needs to be whole and healed. Please touch researchers who are working on cures for addiction and change our society to have compassionate hearts for those struggling with addiction. Lord, work a miracle in the lives of these poor afflicted ones and let them be made new in you for the glory of God, united with your sacrifice on the cross.

Please pray for his expedient and miraculous healing from addiction and for his conversion. Please pray also for his family who are devastated by this new relapse and are afraid he will die. They are beginning to lose hope and I can see the toll it is taking on the whole family.

You show special compassion for alcoholics and drug addicts. You have freed so many people from their dependencies. Free this young man I beg you, dear Father Alfred, and free those people I recommend to you, especially members of my family.

Please pray for this young addict who is facing an unavoidable surgery tomorrow. Please pray that this procedure will not cause him to relapse or overwhelm him with cravings to use and ask God to protect his sobriety. Please pray for his family as well who are nervous and afraid for their loved one.
