Please pray for an old spine to stabilize

Last night, for whatever reason, as I pushed my home office chair backwards to get up, the chair rolled away from me and I dropped to the floor with only a carpet between me and the hardwood. I have had 12 spine surgeries to date trying to keep that old spine intact and functional so I can continue walking at least for some amount of distance.

I feel really strange asking for prayer for this seemingly minor incident but I lost feeling in two fingers on my left hand, three on my right, my left leg from the knee down and since my pelvis and lower back are essentially one large bone, it has been aching a bit more than my moderately high pain threshold. This tells me I did cause some misalignment that impinged on nerves and I confess, paralysis terrifies me.

If the prayer warriors in this forum feel that I am not overreacting by asking for prayer and even more so that I am not committing a sin by asking for help when so many others are in dire need whereas mine is not life threatening, then please, add this old sinner to your prayers.

While you considering this, please keep the homeless, especially the homeless with children on your list. These warm days can make people think weather is not an issue but constant exposure can be a life threatening issue. Some might think winter is over but it appears quite a bit of fury remains to come tearing across the country threatening who knows how many in this situation.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal OldArmyDog. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into OldArmyDog’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Its never a sin to ask for help in these situations, actually its the path of the good to humble oneself and ask for help. When we ask for help we overcome our pride. God bless.
 
Good day my brothers and sisters in Almighty God and His Beloved Son Christ Jesus,

I just wanted to give you an update.

Apparently, I did not do any permanent damage to my spine or actually injure any nerves; I may have bruised or pushed on a nerve here and there but I have regained feeling in most of my fingers; small numb spots were there before and I guess are kind of expected. 🙂

The overall pain level has now gone back under my threshold where I realize it is there but can simply acknowledge its presence but not let it stop me from moving forward, if that makes any sense.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. I think that when people who only know you by a forum name and the information you choose to share take their time to actually pray for your recovery, it says quite a bit about the people who call this forum home. I wish I had the words to express how I feel that you cared.

I truly do feel much better. I would be lying to say I am not sore and still sleeping more than usual but I consider it healing sleep which is a good thing.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, the links which not only make me feel better but also reinforce the fact that I have found my home.
