Im sorry im not catholic or a saint, but i will pray for you to Jesus and he will deliver your daughter.

amen
Thank you Jesus for delivering this womans daughter today!!!
There will be good reports
Well, I’m not a woman but I reckon I should take that as a compliment. Developing any sort of sensitivity is but a recent development in an otherwise decidedly non-empathetic life.

I appreciate your prayers… and please know that we are all called to be saints. Consider that a glorious tenet of the mother Church…🙂

Peace-

sorry to take so long to respond. i haven’t seen a nutritionist. it helps to eat with friends. sitting down for a meal with my family puts a lot of pressure on me and i cannot relax. i want to eat to make them happy;if i eat too much or too little they are concerned. just an idea–perhaps you could go grocery shopping with her and take a walk after supper to relieve stress. i know a lot of people (with eating disorders) that cannot eat in front of people(not the case for me). i was left home alone a lot and when we did sit down for a family dinner it was very chaotic. i read an article in the most recent issue of people about olivia newton johns daughter battling anorexia which i could relate to, having my parents away a lot also. even playing music or having the television on at mealtime is a good distraction. i myself find it easier to eat throughout the day versus sitting down for a large meal. having too much food at once makes me feel sick and stressed. best luck with everything, i hope things works out with a nutritionist.

May our merciful and loving Father lay His hands on your dear daughter, Camille. And may He heal her of her sicknesses, and heal your family of all hurt, anger, and pain. May He see you through this trying time and lift you up in your times of need.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. :signofcross:

Thanks to the community for your prayers.

Camille is in intensive therapy for her ED- she has two sessions during the week with her ED counselor, one session with a nutritionist, and then we have family therapy on the weekend. We feel blessed that her ED counselor grew up in the Faith and so can relate on a cultural basis.

It’s a significant load on everyone, especially her mother- your continued prayers for guidance and wisdom for her treatment team, healing for her, and for all of us, are greatly appreciated.

Shalom, Twigggie and thank you for asking.

What a year it has been.

After a high-intensity outpatient counseling regimen, Camille is slowly learning how best to deal with stress and the unwarranted opprobrium of members of her peer group, that bearing the pain silently, then refusing food, is hurting her severely. Perhaps more importantly, she is learning how much her family loves her and is here for her through all her trials, thanks be to God. She still sees both a nutritionist and a family therapist- her eating disorder will be with her indefinitely but we are all learning how best to confront it when restrictive periods inevitably arise.

We have a special challenge as well. While out clothes shopping one day, Camille was ‘discovered’ by a NYC high-fashion photographer who had relocated to our area and was looking for new ‘talent’. Through research, we learned he was legit- the photos he’s since taken of her have been passed around, and now she’s the one girl with whom everyone wants to work. Coming from someone else this might sound boastful, but suffice to say this is extremely frightening for my wife and me. Mind you, Camille’s goal for many years was to be in high fashion, and I think most people are aware of what that industry does to girls and young women. For pity’s sake, she did it to herself! While we have been trying to get her to a healthy nutrition regimen and a normal weight, they will, once this Fall rolls around and she is of an age to go on shoots, be singularly concerned with keeping her abnormally underweight if they can. So perhaps you see our biggest dilemma- reconciling her goals with our parental responsibilities. So your continued prayers are appreciated.

Thanks to all and to our Blessed Mother for her intercession with my precious young saint in the making.
