Prayer Before Surgery

Lord Jesus, help Fr. B as he prepares for this operation.
In Your love, guard and protect him.
Through the skills of the doctors
And the care of everyone else
Bring him back to health and full recovery.

Lord Jesus, I praise You forever and ever. Amen.

Father will be admitted to the hospital early Sunday afternoon. The operation will be performed “sometime” on Monday and will take 4-6 hours.

Lord, please give Fr. B patience and serenity as he waits for his operation. Grant him a full recovery from his health problems. In this as in all things, however, may Your will be done. :signofcross:

Father left ICU at noon on Tuesday and is now in a “normal” room. He will remain in the hospital until late next week then be transferred to a rehabilitation clinic for three weeks of (name removed by moderator)atient therapy.

Thank you again for all your prayers, and thanks be to God for seeing Fr. B safely through his operation.

Fr. B is now free from the various tubes that were attached to him. He is very tired (normal) and not sleeping well (semi-normal). Nevertheless, he’s apparently doing so well that his hospitalization will be shortened slightly: Father will be moved to the rehabilitation clinic on Tuesday, two days earlier than planned.

The Husband and I will probably visit him on Sunday.

Praise God for his improvement! I am offering prayers for continued healing now and will offer again tonight before the Blessed Sacrament.

The Husband and I visited Fr. B in the hospital today (Sunday). He’s sitting up, his pain appears to be correctly managed, and he is able to carry on brief conversations. On the other hand, treating a common but not negligible side effect of the operation will delay his transfer to rehab by a day. Other than that and some trouble eating and sleeping, he is doing well overall.

I will speak to him by phone later in the week and we’ll visit again next weekend at the latest.
